Search me, God, and know my heart; Put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts. (Psalm 139:23 NASB)
HEART OF GOLD
For what it’s worth, Marcia Riggs Hawkins’ latest authorship milestone has blessed her mightily in that it has prompted her to take a thorough assessment of the overall landscape of her life.
For her valiant efforts, God subsequently has provided on her behalf a much-anticipated increase.
“When I heard the title, I searched my heart and soul and my past,” Hawkins, during a weekend interview with Making Headline News, said.
The title to which she’s alluding is The Image In The Mirror: The Reflection That Inspired The Courage To Live Limitlessly, a highly-anticipated anthology that is spearheaded by North Carolina businesswoman, Joan T. Randall, and is scheduled to officially debut in March 2021.
As Hawkins explained, joining forces with Randall and her group of Christian-based co-authors couldn’t have come at a better time, considering she’s fully persuaded that God has strategically endorsed Randall’s latest project for such a pivotal time as now.

“God led me to a particular time in my youth that, unbeknownst to me, I had never really worked thru,” Hawkins, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, said of her the memorable developments that have led to her latest contributions as an author. “Writing this chapter has helped me to forgive myself, as well as others.”
Hawkins’ chapter in The Image In The Mirror: The Reflection That Inspired The Courage To Live Limitlessly is centered largely on forgiveness, particularly why God commands His people to exemplify this essential fruit of the spirit early and often during their faith walk.
“In writing this chapter, I came to terms with forgiveness in a way I didn’t think I needed,” Hawkins explained. “I’ve always understood how important it is to forgive others, but I never thought about forgiving myself…me, the person I see daily, the person that I set standards for, and self-mutilate internally if that’s not met.”
So what is the forthright message Hawkins’ is aiming to get across through her readers by way of The Image In The Mirror: The Reflection That Inspired The Courage To Live Limitlessly?”
For starters, she emphasized, “My message is a tag from another conference. (That is) it’s okay not to be okay. But as we give grace to others, don’t forget yourself.”
Like many others, the unprecedented global pandemic, by all accounts, has allowed Hawkins’ plenty of time to hear from God for a divine sense of direction, particularly with regards to her latest achievement as an author.
“SEARCH ME, O GOD“
“I started writing this chapter in the midst of worldly and personal isolation, the pandemic that forced the world to look at themselves,” Hawkins said.
Besides The Image In The Mirror: The Reflection That Inspired The Courage To Live Limitlessly, Hawkins’ is responsible for having written a pair of solo-authored written works.
In May 2017, she ceremoniously made her authorship debut with the release of Thirst Quenched: A Woman At The Well, 111-page book that is accompanied by a compilation of writings, many of which have emerged amid what this writer describes as a rash of life-altering lessons and some disappointments.
“The one thing that has been consistent through it all is the love of Jesus and knowing that I can do all things through Christ,” Hawkins writes in an Amazon introduction of her first book. “Some experiences, even if they are painful, give you a growth that you wouldn’t receive if you didn’t have the lesson.”
And then there’s From His Spirit to Your Heart, Hawkins’ sophomore published work that made its official release on April 29, 2020.
A book that comprised of 74 pages in length, Hawkin’s From His Spirit to Your Heart is a compelling, spiritually-empowering 30-day devotional of a collection of writings, many of which this writers says have been downloaded from the Holy Spirit, according to an Amazon synopsis of her second book.
“It’s a day-by-day word that is relevant on any day of the week,” according to Amazon spokesperson for Hawkin’s From His Spirit to Your Heart. “(This book includes) scripture, with an interpretation that you can easily identify with, and the nuggets are from His heart to your ear!”
As for Hawkins’ contributions’ to The Image In The Mirror: The Reflection That Inspired The Courage To Live Limitlessly, she’s already become the beneficiary of a variety of rave reviews, as with her other books.
“The feedback from all of the writings God has placed in me has been wonderful,” Hawkins’ said. “The accolades are great. The souls that find a deeper love — more time and understanding as a result of my penmanship and His work — are priceless.”
Having been employed by Mecklenburg Company for the past five years, Hawkins has been a fixture in the healthcare industry for 26 years.
Interestingly enough, she serves as Vice-President of the Tampa, Florida-based Woman Transformed Ministries — which is headed by Founder/President Gina McDaniel — a progressive nonprofit organization that customarily meets women where they are, as well as assists them in finding the plan and the purpose God has for them.
“This is done through our testimony, the Holy Spirit, and the Word of God,” Hawkins said of her affiliation with Woman Transformed Ministries, which is scheduled to host an empowerment conference Aug 6-8, 2021 at a Charlotte-area Embassy Suites.
Also, Hawkins is the founder of Coffee, Tea and Jesus, which is what she describes as a safe gathering group for women to sit and discuss what is on their hearts, all the while aiming to align their issues and concerns with the Word of God.
