She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard. (Proverbs 31:16 ESV)
TERRITORY ENLARGED
Taneshia La’Shandria Jackson is approximately two years removed from having set arguably one of the most significant and pivotal goals surrounding her business venture.
Much to her delight, she’s emphatically made good on it, as a result.
The owner and CEO of Lit! Candles By Taneshia, Jackson’s thriving, flourishing Hattiesburg, Mississippi-based hand-crafted candle business is steadily making immeasurable strides, most notably from a global standpoint.
For Jackson, she’s overwhelmingly delighted that such a vision surrounding her featured endeavor has come full circle since its inception in 2017.
“I set a goal in 2019 to have at least one of my products in each state, and I successfully reached that goal,” Jackson, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, recalling one of her business’ notable changed since her previous story by MHN. “And I have continuous orders being shipped to half of the states and to four countries.”

Generally, Jackson said sales have “drastically increased” by roughly 41% within the past year. Also, she acknowledged that a majority of the sales have surfaced through online orders (at www.litcandlesbyt.com), as well as through her social media business pages (via Facebook at https://m.facebook.com/litbytaneshia and via Instagram at www.Instagram.com/litcandlesbyt).
Interestingly, what appears even more astounding is that Jackson’s Lit! Candles By Taneshia’s best and brightest days are well ahead of it, considering her business essentially is in its infancy stages.
Since her business went into operations, Jackson has become the beneficiary of an array of favorable reviews, particularly during an unprecedented global pandemic, during which Lit! Candles By Taneshia has enjoyed a considerable amount of success.
“I have been able to keep my business afloat during the pandemic,” Jackson, a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia said. “Even though everyone has had financial hiccups, people still want their homes and businesses smelling good.”
Even during the winter storm that blanketed a number of U. S. southern states earlier this year, Lit! Candles By Taneshia witnessed an unprecedented increase in business.
“There have been tragic weather events, and my business has brought light to many during power outages,” Jackson recalls.
Aside from having generated more of an international presence, Lit! Candles By Taneshia deemed it necessary to donate 100 candles to families who lost power in Texas during the winter storm.
For her valiant acts of kindness, Jackson subsequently was blessed mightily as her business steadily enjoyed sustained success — with her venture’s best and brightest days drawing ever-so-closer than ever before.
“My goals for 2021 is to have a successful distribution warehouse,” Jackson said. “I am branching away from doing business and making candles from my home storage shed and have a building where customers can come pick up, order, and shop all at the same time. It’s open now, but I need to market it more to get people coming.”
Lit! Candles By Taneshia’s current location is 722 Grace Avenue in Hattiesburg.
Since her previous story by MHN in June 2020, Lit by Taneshia has designed the following items: the Rear View Mirrir car fresheners, Vent Car freshener clips, potpourri, spray fresheners, and electric plug-in fresheners.

“I have also added an exclusive line. These candles are made in various decorative vessels,” Jackson said. “Customers choose their vessels colors and fragrances, and they are made customized specifically for that individual customer.”
On May 29, Jackson will host what is known as the inaugural Sip and Scents With Lit, during which she will enlighten the masses on all things candles and other products offered by her business.
“This is an opportunity for those who love candles, love to learn new things, loves wine and overall likes to have fun,” Jackson said. “This event will be filled with knowledge of soy candles, as well as different types of waxes wicks and vessels. You will learn how to properly hand make your very own candles, access to a private candle group, (and we will have) food and fun.”
