These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer. I have overcome the world. (John 16:33 NKJV)
MOM KNOWS BEST
One of Dana Watson’s much-anticipated authorship projects will officially come to fruition this summer.
Long before this memorable milestone, though, her beloved mother had inspired her to diligently demonstrate her faith as a gifted and talented writer.
An empowerment extraordinaire in her own right, Watson is one of 90 authors who have joined forces to produce Women Who Pray: 90 Days Of Powerful Prayers, the highly-anticipated anthology that is spearheaded by St. Mary’s, Georgia-based International Motivational Speaker and Bestselling Author Carleeka Basnight-Menendez.
While Basnight-Menendez is the mastermind behind Women Who Pray, Watson said she was taught the significance and power of prayer by her mother, a devout woman of faith who passed away in 2018.
“I was also inspired by my mother based on the challenges I endured after her death,” Watson, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable, life-altering developments that have contributed to her immeasurable gifts as an author.

“During her illness I prayed constantly for her healing,” Watson explained. “When God didn’t heal her the way that I had hoped, I was very disappointed, and I found it hard to pray to God.”
A few years removed from her mother’s demise, God placed in Watson’s path a person whom He strategically assigned to provide her with the essential spiritual reinforcement she so desperately sought: Basnight-Menendez, a fellow native Virginian whom, according to Watson, has become a tremendous blessing to her in many aspects.
“I am thankful for the visionary, Carleeka Basnight-Menendez, for bringing 90 women together to compile a prayer devotion book,” Watson said. “I questioned myself several times on whether or not I deserved to be a part of this book, because I had been struggling with my prayer life for a couple of years.”
Before she knew it, Watson had commenced to petitioning God’s throne of grace for the right answers unlike never before.
“I kept asking God to renew my prayer life and He did just that,” Watson recalls. “Both of these books will be released in Summer 2021.”
The other book to which Watson is alluding is Man of Deception, a compelling written work she began composing sometime in 2018.
Just like Women Who Prays, Watson was inspired to produce Man of Deception, thanks in large to the wise counsel of her mother.
“Although this is a fictional book, it was based on a real dream that my mother had when I was separated from my now ex-husband,” Watson explained. “My mother was a prophet, and she was advising me to be careful about a man in my life, who she feared would be deceptive to me. My mother passed away in 2018, so I wrote this book in memory of her.”
As for Basnight-Menendez’s Women Who Pray: 90 Days Of Powerful Prayers, Watson acknowledged this brilliant anthology has proven to be the essential spiritual refuel she needs for such a time as now.
“I love writing stories to encourage women to continue pushing, no matter what life may throw their way,” Watson said. “Sometimes, we make mistakes in our relationships, and it makes it hard to not only trust others, but to trust ourselves in making right decisions. But through prayer, God will direct your footsteps so you can make better choices and build a closer relationship with God.”

Man of Deception and Women Who Pray will be Watson’s second and third books and her first published work in seven years.
A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Watson made her made her authorship debut with the ceremonious release of Because He Loves Me, a 134-page masterpiece that vividly spotlights a wide range of women’s issues surrounding parenting, most notably relationships, family, self-love, and domestic abuse.
According to Watson, the possibility exists that additional books are forthcoming.
“I am always thinking of my next project,” Watson, the owner of Elev8te Health & Wellness, LLC, said. “I have so many titles in my head. So, for right now I’ll just say there is more to come. Although both books have not been released to the public, I have received great support from my family and friends. I am now accepting pre-orders and the list is growing every single day. I am sure that there will be positive feedback with both books, and I am believing in God for some powerful testimonies to come forth from my readers.”
When asked what divine message she’s aiming to send to her audience through Women Who Pray: 90 Days Of Powerful Prayers, Watson wasted little time referencing the familiar, life-changing passage that is Jeremiah 29:11.
“It’s funny that you asked this question,” Watson said. “I believe in both books, the message is that God loves us unconditionally. And, although we do not know God’s final plans for our life, He knows what is best for us, so we must trust Him.”
Just as her beloved mother had inspired her to do.
Time and time again.
