MY SCARS MEDIA COVERAGE: Atlanta-area Pastor Monica Kaye Harris-Blackshear’s anthology comes amid humble beginnings

Andre Johnson July 1, 2021 5 min read

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18 NKJV)

SCARRED, YET ANOINTED

YES LORD — And so it came to pass, Atlanta-area author Monica Harris-Blackshear’s featured written work, My Scars: Testimonies of Survival And Triumph, her spiritually-empowering anthology that figures to greatly impact the kingdom for years to come.

It was what Monica Kaye Harris-Blackshear appropriately describes as the “last paragraph,” during which God had strategically introduced to her a newly-erected, awe-inspiring vision, one that changed the overall landscape of her life.

“At the end of October 2020, when I was working on my last paragraph on an anthology for someone else that I was working with at the time,” Harris-Blackshear, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said when asked when did God give her the vision to compose her latest book.
And so it came to pass, Harris-Blackshear’s featured written work, My Scars: Testimonies of Survival And Triumph, her spiritually-empowering anthology that figures to greatly impact the kingdom for years to come.
A life-altering, massive page-turner of a book that made its ceremonious debut on January 22, 2021, Harris-Blackshear’s My Scars: Testimonies of Survival And Triumph is comprised of five co-authors, all of whom who have deemed it essential to collectively share of their truths by way of go what this Christian-based visionary deems “amazing journeys.”

GET THIS BOOK — A captivating, tear-jerking book that is accompanied by 86 pages in length, Harris-Blackshear emphasized, among other things, her published masterpiece was produced out of act of obedience to Almighty God.

“Testimonies are meant to be shared. Their purpose is to give glory to God for delivering us through and from difficult situations and to help someone else who may be going through an arduous season in their life,” said an Amazon spokesperson in a detailed synopsis of Harris-Blackshear’s My Scars: Testimonies of Survival And Triumph. “Testimonies provide encouragement to the tethered soul that feels like all hope is gone.

“Having gone through her share of heartaches, abandonment, near-death experiences, betrayal, loneliness, and deception, Monica Kaye Harris understands the pain associated with each circumstance. But she also understands the magnificent grace, mercy and favor of God who has given her a multitude of testimonies. That’s why she decided to gather a group of exceptional individuals with amazing testimonies of their own to inspire the world. My Scars and its stories confirm that you are not alone. Others have gone through similar tests, and with the help of God, they have triumphed over them! Remember, after the test comes the Testimony! Your scars are reminders of the transformation that needed to take place!”

MASSIVE KINGDOM IMPACT — “This book has restored marriages, saved souls, rekindled friendships and, most of all, given others a closer relationship with God while giving gratitude for all things,” said Harris-Blackshear, a two-time recipient of the Atlanta ACHI Magazine Awards, the Atlanta Educators Award, RTB’s (Removing The Bandages) Winning Woman Award, a 2019 BPU Power of Change recipient, a three-time nominee for Atlanta’s Hottest Awards, as well as a host of community-based accolades.

A captivating, tear-jerking book that is accompanied by 86 pages in length, Harris-Blackshear emphasized, among other things, her published masterpiece was produced out of an act of obedience to Almighty God.

“The Holy Spirit told me to do it,” Harris-Blackshear, an Atlanta-area minister, says without hesitation. “From the cover, to the title, to what was needed.”

To her distinctly unique credit, My Scars: Testimonies of Survival And Triumph has been as good as advertised since its official release, this after it took virtually little time to assemble.

Talk about a mighty move of God.

“Submissions were due by mid-November, and the book was finished by the end of December,” said Harris-Blackshear, whose anthology launch date ironically fell on her late mother’s birthday (January 22, 2021).

“No matter what you are going through, God is always with you, and you can make it. No matter what man says, all you need is a ‘Yes’ from God,” said Harris-Blackshear, explaining the divine message she aspires to send to her reading audience through her latest book.

An ordained Pastor, nationally certified chaplain, radio personality, actress, and aspiring print model who is the founder and CEO of My Scars Ministry, LLC, Harris-Blackshear’s made it authorship debut last year when she joined the collaborative project, The American Nightmare: Black Women on Being Black In America, an anthology that is spearheaded by C. A native of Mansfield, Ohio, Harris-Blackshear announced that other books are forthcoming, one of which she’s “prayerfully” will published by year’s end, she told MHN.

“Never stop dreaming and never think that you cannot achieve something,” Harris-Blackshear said. “If God gave you the vision, He will give you everything and everybody needed to carry out His vision for your life. Greater is He that is in you than He who is in the world.”

Talk about a mighty move of God.
