Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man separate. (Mark 10:9 NKJV)
TEAM SASHINGTON
Some eight years ago, Sarita Sashington recalls vividly how she had suddenly found herself enduring arguably the darkest season of her life, recalls precisely how her marriage was at an unlikely crossroads.
Then, suddenly, after she suffered a while, God had ultimately began to perfect that which concerned her.
He commenced to establish, strengthen, and settle her in what undoubtedly was a dreaded season in the wilderness.
“Our experience lasted from 2013 to 2018,” Sashington, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, recalling the past tumultuous events that mired her marriage to Gregory Sashington Sr. “I received this vision around the second year or so of being in the sunken place. (That’s) when Daddy God assured me He would bring us out and that our testimony would inspire others.”
The testimony to which Sashington is alluded has appropriately — and miraculously — played out in The Sunken Place: Overcoming Mid-Life Crisis In Marriage, her first published book that debuted in July 2021.

A life-altering, spiritually-empowering written work she composed as a strategic way to inspire hope to married couples caught in what she describes as “the throes” of a mid-life crisis, Sashington’s Sunken Place: Overcoming Mid-Life Crisis in Marriage comes amid humble beginnings.
Widely regarded as an emotionally-driven story of grief, hope, and triumph, according to this Matteson, Illinois writer, Sunken Place: Overcoming Mid-Life Crisis In Marriage is designed in large part to bring promise to great marriages, particularly those that find themselves in a difficult space.
SET ASIDE FOR GOD’S USE
In essence, Sashington goes to great length to encourage, inspire, and follow after love, most notably in this brief glimpse into her own marriage, a God-manifested union that ultimately found its way in and out of a difficult space — which, by all accounts, serves as notable reminder that what God has joined together, let not man separate.
“The diagnosis for a marriage caught in the throes of mid-life Crisis are dire, devastating, and almost completely without hope,” said Sashington, explaining the divine message she aspires to send to her reading audience through her highly-anticipated book. “A marriage founded in and on the Person of Jesus Christ can have a totally different diagnosis. Your marriage can beat the odds.”
Interestingly, as Sashington acknowledges, she has what she deems as “three passions” in life with Jesus, our Priest, being topping the list.
The other two: marriage and parenting.
“For over 10 years, my husband and I ran the Activities Committee for the Married Couple’s Ministry for a mega- church,” Sashington, a native of Chicago, recalls. “We taught Sunday School for both married couples and the engaged. Throughout our marriage, we’ve coached several couples through difficult seasons in their marriage. It is only fitting that my husband and I should have this experience and come through it successfully. This…that God might be glorified.”
Sashington needed approximately three years to assemble a Sunken Place: Overcoming Mid-Life Crisis In Marriage book that has already garnered a rash of rave reviews on various message boards and social media platforms — having commenced to writing it sometime in 2017 and putting the wraps on it in December 2020.

Next up for Sashington: her forthcoming book entitled, Killing Sista Gurl!, which will debut at a time and date that have yet to be announced.
As for her having officially made her authorship debut, Sashington said: “(Many have told me this book is) inspiring, helpful, and hopeful for both married and single readers.”
Just as her Creator had envisioned some eight years ago, during which this Christian-based author recalls vividly how she had suddenly found herself enduring arguably the darkest season of her life.
But God…
