But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV)
COVER ME, LORD
Since making her ceremonious authorship debut in Fall 2020, Kathy Newell has become the beneficiary of an assortment of rave reviews.
Said one reader of Newell’s Chasing Undeserved Grace in a review via Amazon.com: “Loved it. Beautiful book and person.”
Said another reader in a more in-depth review: “What a great way to glorify God. I met the author at her present place of employment recently and was intrigued when she mentioned she wrote a book. Even though it is a short book, it resonated with me and all of the poor choices I have made in my life.
“But I so appreciate her willingness to be open about it. The part I loved most is her humbleness before the Lord and her book is a great tribute to our Lord and savior. This world is becoming more and more crazy…as believers, we need to be sharing the undeserving grace that Jesus so lavishly gives us!”
For Newell, a Springfield, Missouri, Christian-based writer who goes by the pen name, “Ivory Mystique,” her rise to becoming a published author comes amid humble beginnings which, to her credit, coupled the with the divine calling on her life, has given way to a Chasing Undeserved Grace being dubbed a book that has been as good as advertised.

“(I began) writing it two years ago after talking to a friend about my life and (hearing) her saying, ‘You need to write a book,’” Newell, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the awe-inspiring developments that contributed to her quest of becoming an author.
For Newell, it was, by all accounts, some wise counsel worth heeding amid the dialogue with her friend, considering her newly-assembled book has impacted the lives of those with knowledge of her much-anticipated milestone as an a first-time author.
A book that is comprised of 70 pages in length, Ivory Mystique’s Chasing Undeserved Grace vividly recalls what this brilliantly gifted writer describes as “my life struggles,” particularly those dreaded seasons during which she gone through the fire only for God to miraculously steer her to the other side, as according to a detailed synopsis of her this book at Amazon.com.
“It portraits me struggling in adult relationships, in daily life, and the undeserving grace I have received from God,” Ivory Mystique writes in her Amazon intro of her new book. “Mercy and grace had gone hand-in-hand in my life to form a vessel of belief. There is hope, but only one answer, one way. Walking hand-in-hand with Jesus is the only way.”
Interestingly enough, Newell emphasized, among other things, that Chasing Undeserved Grace was written, in large part because she wants others who have traveled the same road she has to subsequently “draw inspiration from my life,” she told MHN.
SURROUNDED BY ANGELS
And, while the global pandemic essentially slowed the production stages of her new book, Newell, nevertheless, wasted little time composing her published masterpiece, having commenced to writing it in January 2020 and finishing it approximately a month later.
“This is my first and only book. The thing I want people to take away from the book is that God makes the impossible possible,” said Newell, a native Missourian who was raised near the Lake of the Ozarks (or the central part of the state). “There’s nothing He can’t do.”

Much to her delight, amongst the trends about which Newell deems gratifying is that “People who have read the book say they can’t put it down,” she customarily says with a smile.
“It draws you in, it hits home, and it is a good way to honor Him,” Newell said. “I want others to never give up, to lead others to my amazing God. Jesus is the way. There is no equal and never will be. He is the great I Am.”
Amen to that.
