Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial, which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; But rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. (1 Peter 4:12-13 NKJV)
B-JOY OF THE LORD

Over the past year-and-a-half or so, Brandee “BJ” Martin’s faith has been tried and tested unlike never before.
Heck, if it wasn’t one thing, it was another.
But God…
“People were losing friends and loved ones,” Martin, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the seemingly ongoing turbulence that has surfaced in her life to challenge her faith.
What’s even worse, Martin’s brother’s life was cut short amid senseless gun violence.
“I had lost my brother. He was shot and killed at his home, and I could not attend his funeral because of the pandemic,” Martin recalls. “Others had lost their jobs. There was so much turmoil going on all around me.”

All things considered, though, Martin was determined not to pin blame on Almighty God for the rash of unfavorable circumstances over which she had no control. If nothing else, in fact, she steadfastly found the strength to cling to unwavering faith, all the while encouraging the masses in the process.
“I felt like people needed to know that they were not going through this alone,” Martin said. “They needed a little inspiration. The light at the end of the tunnel truly exists.”
For Martin, such a “light at the end of the tunnel” had surfaced by way of her ceremonious debut as an Atlanta-based author.
Martin is one of 90 co-authors to share of her life-altering journey in Finding Joy In the Journey Vol 2: Healthy Ways To Find Joy During Difficult Times 90 Day Devotional, Vernessa Blackwell’s highly-anticipated 12th anthology that made its official debut in July 2021.
A book that is comprised of 190 pages in length, a massive pool of co-authors has assembled to collectively engage in real talk about finding joy during difficult times, most notably COVID-19, loss, love, grief, and healing, among other pertinent topics, Blackwell told MHN last week.
“I began (contributing to) this book in the Spring of 2020,” Martin, a native of Cincinnati, said. “It took a few months to finish.”

Once she had finally capped off her chapter for an anthology that has emerged as an Amazon No. 1 Bestseller, she had subsequently become the beneficiary of an array of rave reviews.
“(People have told me that) my book is very uplifting and inspirational,” Martin said. “(Some have told me) it is very relatable. It has helped many people during these times. It offers a renewed belief and faith in humanity.”
And, for these reasons, Martin is thoroughly convinced in Finding Joy In the Journey Vol 2: Healthy Ways To Find Joy During Difficult Times 90 Day Devotional aligns with the purpose for which God has created her.
“I was created to share and spread love, light, inspiration, and empowerment to the world,” Martin says without hesitation. “I feel like this book is the beginning or the start to fulfilling my purpose.”

Besides being a newcomer to the ever-so-commendable world of authorship, Martin is gifted recording artist whose new EP (extended play) entitled, “Love Frequency 527,” is scheduled to be released in October.
Widely known in the entertainment industry as “Ms. BJ Martin,” Martin said she had been working on her latest project for the past six months.
“I am so excited to be able to share my gifts with the world,” she said.
Interestingly enough, she’s also slated to appear on a billboard in New York’s Times Square next month, as well as engage in interviews by other media outlets.

Not to be outdone, Martin’s sophomore book — a collection of poems — is scheduled to debut on October 18, she told MHN.
As for her valiant contributions to Finding Joy In the Journey Vol 2: Healthy Ways To Find Joy During Difficult Times 90 Day Devotional, Martin deemed it necessary to issue a notable reminder to her readers.
“Whatever situation you are going through, you are not alone,” Martin said. “You are loved and supported. And, just like the sun, you are necessary. God gave me the vision to write this book during the pandemic.”
And, to her distinctly unique credit, her authorship debut has been nothing short of impressive.
