Because of whom she is and because of where God is taking her, Monique S. Carter’s much-anticipated season to reap a harvest has finally come to fruition.
Just as God had purposed all along.
An accomplished real estate professional whose notable expertise spans nearly three decades — 27 years, to put it more precisely — Carter is the face of Carter & Associates Realty, her Southfield, Michigan-based full-service residential real estate broker that has become a fixture for “changing the market” Carter told Making Headline News during a recent interview.
“I teach sellers and buyers how to maximize their resources while using my expertise to position them to succeed in the market,” Carter, a Detroit native, said. “My passion and drive for my business taught me to think creatively and strategically. Being competitive made me an exceptional learner and positioned me to be diligent in my affairs. As a result, I launched a company with zero, and it’s been thriving for more than 25 years while surviving a pandemic and a housing crisis. Simply put, my competitive drive gave me a posture for winning and a determination to get results and obtain success.”

When asked what she loves the most about a real estate company that has become one of the finest of its kinds in Detroit and the surrounding areas, Carter said: “I like the freedom of being transparent with my experience and the opportunity to build relationships with clients. But most of all, what I like most is the ability to change lives. Ultimately, what I like most are the breakthroughs and miracles that I’ve witnessed in the lives of my clients. That brings me the greatest joy.”
Interestingly enough, Carter — who studied Communications and Business Administration at the University of Michigan — announced the startup of The Sell & Succeed Podcast, which debuted in January and is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
“It allows me to take my passion for the business and my desire to see people win and place it into relatable, practical, and easily digestible episodes,” Carter of her newly-erected podcast. “That will educate listeners about the market, inspire them to pursue your dreams, and motivate them to win in life, business, and real estate.”
As for what fueled her fervent desire to delve off into the ever-so-competitive world of all things real estate, Carter credits God, as well as her assortment of experience during her tenure as a Corporate America professional.
“What inspired me most was my teachings from the word of God and experience in Corporate America,” Carter — who’s suitably an ABR, SRS, SFR, and RENE Accredited — explained. “They inspired me to launch into the deep and gave me the character, courage, and confidence to see it through.

“But now, with my new podcast show and second real estate company, my ventures have extended into a global market,” Carter said. “My mission is that every client’s experience is grounded in excellence. I want them to be impacted in a way that alters the course of their lives for the better by helping them secure the home of their dreams and showing them their potential and the possibilities available to them.”
When asked why it is imperative that she esteem and inspire others daily through her progressive, flourishing business venture, Carter said:
“Because we need one another, for far too long, we have acquired success without sowing the seeds of hope that propelled us. We must pay it forward. I didn’t start out being a highly credentialed real estate agent and broker with more than 3,700 homes sold. Yet, many will look at me and feel inspired but at the same time feel like I’m above them.
“But truthfully, I’m just like them. I started at ground zero. I struggled and suffered to get to where I am. And I want others to know it’s attainable. No matter the dream, it’s possible. It’s not where you start but that you start. For me, it’s about inspiring people to be the best they can be. My heart is to see people win and see them live an amazing life.”
