CHANGING A GENERATION
Renee Dixon has the utmost respect for fellow philanthropist Francis F. Forkpa Jr.
“Francis has taught me so much,” Dixon, a Beltsville, Maryland-based empowerment professional, said of Forkpa Jr., a young Monrovia, Liberia-based businessman, during an interview this week with Making Headline News. “We talk almost daily. He has become like a son to me. In the face of challenges, he always says to me, ‘God there…God there, mom!’ We then carry on doing our great work.”
Indeed, they do, in large part considering Dixon and Forkpa Jr. are steadfastly devising ways to diligently advance the kingdom — even it means fortifying their kingdom-based gifts roughly 4,656 miles between them.
To their credit, Dixon and Forkpa Jr. in the coming weeks will join forces to spearhead what is known as the Growth Acceleration Master Class Series 2.

“We the organizers have recognized that young people are a major human resource for development and key agents for social change, economic growth, and technological innovation,” Forkpa Jr. told MHN. “Knowingly, this platform was created to conduct all necessary activities to encourage and promote youth empowerment.
Also, Forkpa Jr. said, The Global Impact Virtual Summit’s strategic objectives are centered on its fervent quest to:
- To engage with peer-learning opportunities in the global fields of competence, access trainings, workshops and volunteer opportunities, contribute to projects, and learn from others. In addition, this institution is committed to granting youths access to the learning hub, where they can find resources and training materials in a variety of different formats.
- To participate in forums and campaigns that unite young people around the world.
- To connect youth with foreign policy circles, global thinkers, businessmen, and global leaders to enable them to become successful contributors in international organizations and think tanks (both governmental and non- governmental institutions).
- To expose young minds to ideas and perspectives from around the globe, and gain perspective that enables them to engage in working towards their goals policy.
- To facilitate opportunities for young people to gain practical work experience with global organizations or institutions.
- To generate an atmosphere where the young people can understand, appreciate, and help in developing a spirit of international partnership on global matters.
“We will be able to encourage and facilitate meaningful engagement with young people across the world in the development and implementation of projects and programs services that will support and encourage,” said Forkpa Jr., referring to his organization’s commitment to collaboration, networking, learning, advocacy, and opportunities.
“Our mission is for young people across the globe to explore opportunities that will help them in achieving their full potential and also impact society,” Forkpa Jr. continued. “They should be able to co-learn, co-design, and co-implement projects and programs to their fields of competence, in a safe, flexible, and inclusive space. Hence, we strongly believe that young people are the store house of the knowledge and great will power to show the safe haven. Creating the ripple of sustainable development and respecting the youthful entrepreneurship mind for the healthy planet.”
The Global Impact Virtual Summit comes months after Dixon and Forkpa Jr. made their presence felt during a three-day summit hosted by Dixon.
“We had close to 300 participants from Liberia and surrounding countries on that Zoom call,” Dixon said of the virtual assembly that took place in August. “It was amazing truly.”
