Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV)
A TRUE CHAMPION
Avery Ascue, sometime last week, hastened to his social media timeline, where he erected a rather spirited, thought-provoking post.
Said Ascue before his sizeable gallery of followers via Facebook: “Every morning, get out the boat and walk on water.”
To grasp a thorough understanding of why Ascue deemed it essential to encourage the masses by way of one of his customary inspiring posts, look no further than his fervent rise as a beloved empowerment personality.
In essence, Ascue was suggesting to the masses to diligently exercise their faith, a trend he has fully embraced as a Charlotte, North Carolina-area businessman who is the mastermind behind Avery Ascue Aspires.
As part of Making Headline News’ 2023 Essence Music Festival advance coverage leading to the “the party with a purpose” event June 29-July 3 in New Orleans, Ascue spoke at length about the memorable development that have ultimately given way to the ceremonious startup of Avery Ascue Aspires.
As Ascue emphasized, his empowerment platform is suitably dubbed the forefront by which he has been afforded the golden opportunity to encourage individuals to reach their highest potential while offering innovative solutions for a better tomorrow.
“We are dedicated to creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to succeed and where we can all make a difference,” Ascue, 34, told MHN. “Our products, services and programs are designed to empower everyone to reach their dreams and aspirations, regardless of their background or circumstances. We are committed to helping people find their true purpose and live a life of abundance and fulfillment. Our mission is to provide the knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and resources that will enable people to reach their highest potential, and to make the world a better place.”
ASPIRE TO INSPIRE
What’s even more astounding is that Ascue has been blessed mightily to fulfill his divine purpose through his business endeavor while steadfastly battling the grandest obstacle of his life: cerebral palsy.
According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders, cerebral palsy (or CP) refers to a group of neurological disorders that appear in infancy or early childhood and permanently affect body movement and muscle coordination.
Generally, CP is caused by damage to or abnormalities inside the developing brain that disrupt the brain’s ability to control movement and maintain posture and balance. The term, “cerebral,” refers to the brain while “palsy” refers to the loss or impairment of motor function.

In some cases, the areas of the brain involved in muscle movement do not develop as expected during fetal growth. In others, however, the damage is a result of injury to the brain either before, during, or after birth. In either case, the damage is not reversible and the disabilities that result are permanent.
By all accounts, CP is the leading cause of childhood disabilities in the U.S., but it doesn’t always cause profound disabilities. In essence, someone with mild CP may not need any assistance or may have slight problems, such as difficulty walking, while a person with severe CP might need special equipment or lifelong care. The disorder isn’t progressive, meaning it doesn’t get worse over time and some symptoms may even change as the child gets older.
Also, there is no cure for cerebral palsy, but supportive treatments, medications, and surgery can help many individuals improve their motor skills and ability to communicate with the world.
As Ascue explained, his cerebral palsy diagnosis hasn’t merely stopped him for seeking and consulting God for a divine sense of direction, particularly for a young businessman who’s destined to empower others to become better versions of themselves.
“Being born with cerebral palsy and the odds stacked against me, I’ve always was determined to play the hand life has dealt to me and win in life,” Ascue, a native Huger, South Carolina, said. “I love helping people and inspiring people and seeing them succeed and win in all aspects of life.”
A graduate of Hanahan (South Carolina) High who enrolled at Trident Technical College for Business, Stratford Career Institute for Business, and the Art Institute of Charlotte, where he studied Fashion Retail Management, Ascue’s entrepreneurial resume is comprised of his operating as a motivational speaker, forex trader, investor, and author.
STAYING ON HIS GODLY GRIND
“(My personal mission for doing this work is) to become the gas that people need to keep driving on this road we call life,” Ascue said of a featured business endeavor that services individuals and groups of all ages.
To his credit, Ascue doesn’t shy away from the notion that his divine calling is centered largely on empowering “champions to keep going.”
Just as he’s doing.
“Cerebral palsy is a part of my story and inspiration to others,” Ascue said. “I never allow cerebral palsy to stop the grind. Being born with cerebral palsy, I had a decision to make in life: Am I going to be a victim or victorious?
“I never allow cerebral palsy to determine my level of success in life because the goal is to go in the grave empty. My mother told me I was special, not because I had cerebral palsy, but because she was speaking to my spirit saying there is a greater work in you. (She once told me) ‘Don’t allow the enemy to use your cerebral palsy to cripple your purpose or your destiny.’”
SET ASIDE FOR GOD’S USE
Much to Ascue’s delight, he’s destined to steadfastly heed the wise counsel of his mother.
Every single day, as evidenced by his awe-inspiring, life-altering journey.
