But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV)
V.I.PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS
A rather extraordinary sequence of events unfolded when Michelle Alston arrived home on May 6.
Said Alston via Facebook on that day to her gallery of followers:
“Coming home to this with tears of joy. Only if y’all really knew. Giving God all the glory and honor first. I thank God for everything because I am nothing without Him. I don’t take this lightly or for granted.
“When I was informed by Dr. Renee Huffman I was chosen for this project, I was really scared, but honored. Why? I was surrounded by eight Drs. and I made nine. Wow! To God be the glory for the birthing of this healthy baby.”

The “baby” to which Alston is referring is V.I.P. Victorious In Prayer: All Access Granted, the highly-anticipated anthology that is spearheaded by Dr. Huffman, a three-time international bestseller author and publisher.
An informative, compelling, faith-based book that made its ceremonious debut in May 2023, V.I.P. Victorious In Prayer: All Access Granted is comprised of eight co-authors who have joined forces to shine the spotlight on a variety of pivotal subjects and issues that are greatly shaping the Body of Christ and our world.
THE PSALM 138:8 FACTOR
In essence, V.I.P is an acronym that stands for Victory In Prayer.
As part of Making Headline News’ 2023 Essence Music Festival advance coverage leading to the “the party with a purpose” event June 29-July 3 in New Orleans, Alston spoke about the joy and excitement surrounding her sixth authorship project to date.
To her credit, the Washington, D. C.-area writer addressed the chapter entitled, Children.
Other chapters in V.I.P. Victorious In Prayer: All Access Granted include: Our Prayer Points, Marriage, Family, Healing, Business, Family With Special Needs, and Her Strength.
STAY IN FAITH
“I was chosen to be a part of this anthology and when the topic of children was given,” Alston told MHN this week. “I knew that it was God’s doing because as a teen mom, I prayed that I would live long enough to see my kids grown. Because of the barriers and obstacles I faced as a child, I did not believe my family was good enough to raise them. They were going to become something and not another statistic. My daughter was not going to be a teen mom and my son was not turning to the streets.”
As Alston explained, she always relied largely on her faith, particularly with regards to being a devoted mother who is destined to train up her children in the way they should go, realizing, among other things, that in their latter years, they would not depart from it.
“Being a co-author of this book was amazing and I had the charge to pray for children all across the globe,” Alston said. “Children are a gift, no matter if you are single or not. They don’t come with a handbook, but the Bible can be the best manual to help any parent get their children in order. And not only that, what we do to them while they’re young can help shape their future for a better tomorrow. We must continue to pray daily for all children because our world today is just not the same.”

Alston made her authorship debut in 2021 when she graced the pages of My Emotional Trauma Almost Took Me Out. The following year, she collaborated with two additional books: There Is Greatness In You (her chapter is entitled, My Pain Got Me Her) and Trapped Behind The Enemy Lines In My Mind (her chapter is entitled, Get Over It).
In April, Alston co-authored Igniting The Millionaire: Become Her to Be Her (her chapter is entitled, Lose Yourself). Also, this year, she collaborated for Prisoner of War In The Mind, composing the chapter entitled, You Are Enough.
As for her divine message through V.I.P. Victorious In Prayer: All Access Granted, Alston said, “Don’t give up on your children. The world wants us to let them go and say, ‘Forget about them.’ What we have yet to understand is that children only do what they are allowed to do. It’s time as parents to take back your authority and power and love on our children, for the devil will suck them up to no return.
ADVANCING THE KINGDOM
“God brought me out of some things and places only God can do,” continued Alston, adding that other book projects are forthcoming. “I believe my call is to broken people that others push to the side. I was one of them. I always felt like nobody saw me unless they need me for something and then they push me back to side. I believe we all have hidden treasure of potential to be our very best version of ourselves. We just have to learn how to quiet the noise and remove the band-aid because being stuck is not an option.
“In order to find and create the best version of you, just cut the roots.”
