Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in Whom I trust.” Surely, He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings, you will find refuge. His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand. (Psalm 91:1-7 NIV)
AND IT CAME TO PASS
The final week of June was an emotional rollercoaster, of sorts, for Kristin Coad.
For the most part.
Said Coad via Facebook June 30 in a post that was accompanied by the hashtag: #FAVOR:
This week, there were so many emotions I experienced, but the ones that topped them all were overwhelming love and gratitude. l am still reeling over us getting to bestseller last weekend. Y’all, we got 457 sales the night before and broke an Amazon (record) and took them two days to be able to count and record it!
“I appreciate all who helped with making that possible and for those who will be sharing the beautiful stories by preordering their copy and sharing this link with those they know and love.”
The “copy” to which Coad is alluding is Seeing Myself In HER Story: A Sister Circle Of Stories To Connect, Heal, and Push Us Through, fellow Maryland Visionary Author Tamika Paige’s highly-anticipated first anthology that will debut in the coming weeks.

A native of Washington, D.C., Smith is one of 48 co-authors who has contributed to a Seeing Myself In HER Story: A Sister Circle Of Stories To Connect, Heal, and Push Us Through anthology that has caused a fervent buzz throughout various message boards and social media platforms in recent months.
As part of Making Headline News’ advance coverage of Sarah Jakes Roberts’ inaugural Woman Evolve Conference September 14-16 from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, Coad said she had sensed for some time that her much-anticipated breakthrough as an aspiring author would ultimately come to fruition.
Mission accomplished for this first-time published author, who’d be the first to admit that such an experience has been nothing short of incredible.
“I had been journaling through my process and God led me to a storyteller’s program, which helped me get my trauma out on paper,” Coad told MHN this week. “That process helped me to see that by sharing experiences, I can help others through their dark times. A key quote that helped me through the transition and that has been present since then is by Michael Beckwith, (who once said), ‘Pain pushes until the vision pulls.’ That really helped me to maintain the understanding that God had a plan for me bigger than I could see at the time.”
FIXIN’ HER CROWN
Powered by Women’s History Month, according to Paige, the legwork for Seeing Myself In HER Story: A Sister Circle Of Stories To Connect, Heal, and Push Us Through commenced in January and took somewhere in the neighborhood of approximately six months to complete.
“It doesn’t matter where you are in life, Seeing Myself In HER Story offers inspiration to all readers,” said a spokesperson for Paige’s first anthology via Amazon.com. “The book greets every reader with testimonies that uplift, encourage, and act as a guide. From the trials and triumphs, to the transparent topics, the S.H.E. — She Has Experience — organization presents a book that is designed to help women continue a path of pushing through.
“The women in this book have been bonded and connected by sharing their truths, hearts, and stories of perseverance and were led in this effort by none-other-than CEO and Founder of Paige Group Inc., Tamika Paige.”

For Coad, her first authorship project is something by which she doesn’t merely take for granted. If nothing else, she said, she embraced such an intriguing encounter head on.
“(I’m determined) to show an example that even while you’re going through the worst time of your life, you can still find your personal freedom,” Coad explained. “You don’t have to wait years to heal. When you decide to surrender to God, He will move mountains that you didn’t know were there.”
Having begun composing her chapter in March 2022 as a part of what is known as the House of Ruth storytellers program — “This was before I would join this project, but that piece was the framework I used for the chapter that is in the book,” she acknowledged — Coad needed approximately two months to complete her submission for Seeing Myself In HER Story: A Sister Circle Of Stories To Connect, Heal, and Push Us Through.
Her title: Assumptions.
“Often, we don’t know what others are going through and the ones who look the strongest carry the biggest burdens,” said Coad, explaining the divine message she’s aiming to send to her readers through her selected chapter. “If you are one of those people, you must remember to be kind to yourself and give yourself grace. If you are not, you can be an ally by being kind and empathic to those you encounter.”
Much to her delight, Coad has fielded rave reviews for her notable authorship efforts.
“(People are showing) excitement to read it,” said Coad, adding that other book projects are forthcoming. “At this chapter in my life, my purpose is to share my experiences. God has gifted me with so many abilities, one of which is to transmute energy. The book itself is a reflection of that transmutation that despite the hell I was in. When you know you’re in hell, keep moving and lean into God.”
In Jesus Name.
