For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. (Romans 8:18/NKJV)
D–S–TERRIFIC READ
It all commenced to unfold a little more than a year ago.
July 15, 2022, to put it more precisely.
“I was preparing to give a book talk at the Indianapolis Black Expo Arts Speaks Cafe on my eighth book, The Battle Behind My Smile,” Tanya White, M.Ed., Ed.S., during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable developments surrounding her latest authorship milestone. “I was nervous because it was my first time speaking at this event. So, I sat in another author’s book talk session to observe and glean some tips for my presentation.”
It was, at that point, things had become even more enthralling for White, who sensed such a life-altering entire arrangement was orchestrated by Almighty God.

“Low and behold, as Angel G. Henry read excerpts from her book Dents In The Ceiling: Tools Women and Allies Need To Break Through, I knew God sent me to that session to receive another level of healing from my workplace trauma and to give me the courage and language to finally write about it,” White recalls. “I left that session with the title and book cover vision for Professionally Lynched.”
And so it came to pass, the highly-anticipated release of Professionally Lynched: Revealing Systemwide Workplace Injustices and Healing From The Lifelong Trauma It Causes Everyone, White’s latest written work that has been has been as good advertised since its ceremonious release in May 2023.
By all accounts, White emphasized, among other things, she deemed it essential to compose Professionally Lynched: Revealing Systemwide Workplace Injustices and Healing From The Lifelong Trauma It Causes Everyone in large part to as a strategic, effective way to give a voice to men and women, particularly those who silently struggling through workplace injustices because of lynching leaders and an organizational system that is reinforcing their actions.
“Too many brilliant, innovative, and results-oriented leaders are being professionally assassinated, traumatized and made to look like the company villain when, in reality, they are the victim who has been crying out and seeking help from human resources, employee union reps, etc., with no avail,” White told MHN. “It is time for companies, especially the education system, to stop lying and telling the public that they cannot find great workers when, in actuality, they are killing them through workplace injustices.”
A book White suitably describes as “not a tell-all read” — “It is a tell-the-truth book,” she stressed — this Louisville, Kentucky-based author vividly compares past historical civil rights inequities to present-day workplace wrongs, according to an in-depth breakdown of her latest published masterpiece via Barnes & Noble online.
“She shares her traumatic personal experience and the stories of other victims whose careers were killed by lynching leaders,” said a Barnes & Noble spokesperson for White’s Professionally Lynched. “Tanya White reveals real-world workplace injustices and aspires to offer healing from the lifelong trauma it causes by:
- Giving a clear definition and identifying the five stages of professional lynching
- Explaining the six types of workplace injustices and how amazing employees are being professionally assassinated.
- Debating the delusion of workplace diversity due to the exponential rise of employees winning their cases from discrimination lawsuits
- Exposing the systemic barriers marginalized groups encounter, particularly Black women, who are wounded while working after getting a seat at the decision-making table
- Showing employees of professional lynching how to stand up for and in their truth without fear, shame or blame, and much more.
“Professionally Lynched is a brilliant manifesto that demands that organizations dismantle systemwide workplace injustices, a Barnes & Noble spokesperson for White’s featured book continued. “Once this occurs, then all employees can truly be trauma-free professionally and genuinely experience diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout their careers.”
A remarkably informative book that is comprised of 188 pages, White needed somewhere in the neighborhood of seven months to produce Professionally Lynched which, to her credit, has garnered an assortment of rave reviews since its recent release.
“Everyone first reacts to the title and the visual of the lynching rope in the title,” White explained. “Then I explain what the divine message of the book is, and then almost all have shared their personal stories and stories of friends they know. (The divine is) that we can no longer have politically correct conversations about the need to dismantle racism, gender bias, and other types of workplace injustices when the organizational system enables toxic leaders to perpetuate a culture of injustice,” White further explained. “Nor can companies have a public image of being an advocate for social justice in the community while they are doing the exact opposite in their private actions toward employees.”

Moreover, White acknowledged in her book, workplace microaggressions are quickly becoming what she describes as “accepted macro aggressions.”
“Intentional explicit biases are pushing out the implicit bias theory and, as for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, sadly, this country is diligently working for DEI (Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion) departments to die,” she said.
“And we cannot company gaslight us into believing they are doing their best to recruit and hire qualified minorities, particularly in decision-making and executive-level roles, when they are professionally lynching a large percentage of us, especially black women,” White continued. “They will invite you to the table but, once you get there, they deliberately disrespect, devalue, discriminate and dismiss your talent while doing everything in their power to make you leave the table.”
Generally, White emphasized, “We must do more than talk the talk. It is past time to walk the walk of eliminating workplace injustices and helping people to heal from the trauma it causes everyone.”
White made her authorship in April 2007 with the release of How To Deal With A Difficult Woman.
She would subsequently compose six more written works during a 12-year stretch: Relationship Reruns: How To Break The Cycle of Choosing The Wrong People For
The Right Relationships (2008), The 99 Males That Make Your Life A Living Hell (June 2009), Girl, You Can Win: The 10 Highly Essential Habits of A Winning Woman (March 2010), You Can’t Quit Now: How To Keep Going When You Feel Like Giving Up (September 2013), Yes, I Am Enough (April 2018), Yes, I Am Enough: The Next Level (April 2019), The Battle Behind My Smile Anthology: Public Testimonies of Triumph in the Midst of Our Private Trauma (April 2022), and The Prayers of the Righteous & Grieving Availeth Much: Balancing Your Spiritual Faith and Human Feelings During Death and Other Loss (September 2022).

A “diehard” member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., White said other books are forthcoming.
“My next endeavor is to write a series of children’s books called the Darla Mae Diaries,” White told MHN. “Darla Mae was my beloved dog who I inherited from my late fiancé, Stefon, after he died of cancer two years ago. Before dating Stefon, I hated all pets and was terrified of dogs. When we were getting serious, he told me, ‘Sweetie, you are going to have to get used to Darla since we are going to be together.
“So, I slowly grew to love Darla Mae and she was very crucial to my grief wellness. She passed from pelvic cancer on July 13, 2023. I will keep her memory alive and the many things she taught me and my entire family about unconditional love, courage, and healthy relationships.”
