For Walker, a Charlotte, North Carolina faith leader and philanthropist, it is a highly-anticipated ceremonious event that will unfold October 19 in Atlanta.

“I’ve been blessed to be placed in multiple leadership roles and positions,” Walker told MHN this week. “While in these positions, I have been able to coach, encourage, and inspire others to grow to their true potential — for both those who were under my leadership role and in my upper leadership.”
Moreover, Walker relishes the notion that through the launch of Marquette L Walker Ministries and Marquette’s Closet, she has been afforded the luxury of giving back to the community, notably as a fixture for Women’s Shelter, during which she helped show “our beauty from the inside and out,” she recalls.
“And God has continued to open doors by recently allowing me to reach and give back internationally,” Walker said. “My Winning Women Courses have allowed me to further encourage and empower women, as well as men to heal from shame, fear, and past hurts so they can put themselves in a place to win. My faith has and will continue to be a beacon for God for encouragement, assurance, and strength through Him.”
Since word spread that Walker has emerged as a recipient for an Honorary Doctorate Degree, she has become the beneficiary of an assortment of praises and well wishes.
“I am truly grateful for all the support and blessings that have led to this moment,” Walker said. “(I’m thankful to all) for being part of this journey with me.”
Armed with more than a decade of experience in the entrepreneurial sector, Walker also oversees the day-to-day operations of Destined 4 Greatness II Event Planning and Winning Women Coaching.
WOMAN OF DIVINE PURPOSE
A graduate of St. Joan Antida High School and Milwaukee Area Technical College, Walker learned in June she had emerged as a candidate for an Honorary Doctorate through Mainseed Christian University, a credible institution dedicated to providing accessible and affordable Christian education to students worldwide, fostering academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community impact.
“(When I) became an honoree, I was so honored to even have been nominated for such an award,” Walker said. “I do not do these things for recognition or awards, but only for the glory of God. I give all the honor and praise to God, as I can do nothing without Him.
“I pray being recognized for this award further brings glory to God and shines a bigger beacon for Him to others that they also may see that all things are possible to those to believe and follow His Word.”
