To her credit, Kimberly Raven could be appropriately described as a woman of many hats.
“My work is a trifecta of creating and storytelling,” Raven said told Making Headline News as part of its 2026 Essence Music Festival advance national coverage for “the party with a purpose” event July 3-5 in New Orleans.
The “trifecta” to which Raven is referring is her feat as an award-winning author, the mastermind behind ButterFly In A Jar, her featured written work that made its ceremonious debut in August 2021.
A native of Atlanta, Raven is the architect of At Yours Truly Productions, her featured business endeavor that has become a fixture for strategically providing a platform for creative mindsets to perfect their craft and bringing cinematic and theatrical visions to life with a focus on authenticity and visual depth.

“In the entertainment industry, competition is often viewed as a hurdle, but I’ve always viewed it as a refining fire,” Raven, 55, told MHN. “That drive pushed me to stop waiting for the right role or the perfect script and, instead, create a platform myself. It instilled in me the discipline to master the technical side of production and the emotional intelligence required for acting, ensuring that my ventures weren’t just participating in the market but leading it.”

When asked what she likes most about her assortment of business endeavors, Raven said:
“The alchemy of collaboration. There is a specific magic that happens when a script, a camera and a vision align. Whether I am in front of the lens as an actor or behind the scenes as a casting director, production coordinator or executive producer, I love the moment a concept transforms into something tangible that can move an audience to tears, laughter, or action.”
Suitably described as an accomplished actor, creative visionary director, and executive producer, Raven is a graduate of Atlanta’s Walter F. George High School.
She began her formal acting training in 2017, during which she studied at a variety of prestigious institutions, most notably the Alliance Theatre, New African Grove Theater, Evolve Acting Studios, Georgia Media Academy, and West End Performing Arts, among others.
As for amongst those her rising ventures service, Raven describes her immeasurable reach as “intentionally broad.”
“We cater to young adults 18-and-up to seasoned professionals and seniors in the literary world,” Raven said. “We focus on (what I call) The Seeking Generation — those who crave intellectual depth, emotional authenticity and narratives that challenge the status quo.
