Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV)
GOD’S BEACON OF LIGHT
To her distinctly unique credit, Mykia Brooks isn’t your typical 27-year-old.
Credit the fact that she’s diligently on fire for God as arguably the biggest reason why.
For what it’s worth, it is due in large part to Brooks’ spirited and innovative disposition that have greatly enabled her to function mightily in her element, both as a Pastor and thriving entrepreneur — with God, her Helper, steering the way.
“What I like most is the women who are motivated by God (and that God is) using me to share my story or encourage them,” Brooks, during an interview this week with Making Headline News said, when asked what she likes the most about her flourishing venture.
A native of Blytheville, Arkansas, Brooks is the founder and CEO of Shyne Her Light INC., her Mid-South-area non-profit organization that is centered largely on promoting unity within women empowerment.

Interestingly, Shyne Her Light sometime last year was spearheaded as a women empowerment group on Facebook and nearly 400 women have since joined Brooks’ credible organization, which has become widely known for its fervent commitment to empower, equip, and edify women to become the best versions of themselves.
Moreover, Brooks’ nonprofit organization has steadfastly set itself apart as an advocate for mental health, diabetes, and cancer, she told MHN.
That’s not all.
“Shyne Her Light INC. believes in helping, motivating, and inspiring every woman, no matter her race, background, or where she is from,” Brooks said. “(We strive to) soar into the greatness that she is born to be.”
In addition, Shyne Her Light INC. customarily provides mentoring for individuals ranging in ages 16-and-up, focusing mainly on personal development, professional development, business marketing, and spiritual guidance.
Also, Shyne Her Light INC. hosts business seminars for women, particularly those who aspire to start a business or currently run a business, but are seeking to network or gain pertinent information that would greatly enable them to become businesswomen.
“We look forward to the now and future to helping women no matter the situation or her past soar and evolve,” Brooks said.
By and large, Brooks’ Shyne Her Light INC. emerged amid humble beginnings. Amongst the reasons is that Brooks has surpassed things in her life, a trend that had ultimately given way to her ability to disconnect her from her purpose, as mentioned in a detailed introduction of her organization at https://www.shyneherlight.org/aboutceo.
THE PROVERBS 31 AFFECT
Though she has yet to reach her 30’s, Brooks undoubtedly has endured her share of turmoil, from having conquered depression, molestation, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, mental abuse in relationships, diabetes, and financial struggles, among other things.
But God…
“She has overcome her biggest giants and uses her pain and trauma to empower other women to soar,” said a spoke for Brooks Shyne Her Light INC.
Interestingly and much to her delight, Brooks’ credible organization was birthed primarily when God once commanded her “to keep shining your light,” she recalls.
She’s since taken her Father’s direct commands and made it apart of the divine purpose for which she was created.
Yep, that’s just like God, always providing for His children a much-needed way of escape.
“God gave me that when I was being mentally abused,” said Brooks, alluding to the startup of her nonprofit. “Every time I post about Shyne Her Light, I’m reminded how I beat depression, sickness, suicidal, overcame low self-esteem, and created a platform for women to soar and become whom God intended for them to be.”
Brooks is overwhelmingly grateful of the notion that all things have worked together for her good.
“I knew that I (was) created for a purpose even when I fought my toughest battles of dealing with diabetes and going through the process of almost losing my eyesight,” Brooks explained. “God’s hands were on me for such a time like this. I stand for every woman that have or is facing depression, molestation, hardship, and healing.”
Upon graduating high school in 2010, Brooks earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminology Psychology from Arkansas Northeastern Community College in May 2013.
She is currently enrolled at Liberty University, where she is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Life Coach and Counseling Psychology and is expected to graduate is May 2021.
She will then pursue a Masters in Professional Counseling (Clinical Mental Health) and boasts lofty aspirations of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.
A progressive nonprofit organization that has enjoyed constant success since it went into full operations on September 2, 2019, Brooks’ itinerary includes hosting Shyne Her Light’s inaugural Meet & Greet Seminar on December 21 at 6:30 p.m. CST at Nehemiah’s Holy Temple, the church she pastors that’s located at 1400 Chickasawba in Blytheville.
An event that will be accompanied by the theme, “Sunshine Like A Boss, Act Like A Woman” and is free and open to the public, this meet and greet will feature a few speakers, many of whom will provide strategic insight on starting a business, personal finances, business finances, skin care, having a healthy lifestyle, everyday makeup for working women, digital marking, and “so much more,” Brooks said.
SEASON OF DESTINY STEPS
Brooks’ Shyne HER Light was originally named “Shyne Your Light,” which was an encouragement name to which God had introduced her when she was praying on a way to escape a toxic relationship mired by mental abuse.
Interestingly, Brooks would subsequently change the name of her organization to “Shyne HER Light” once her empowerment group was officially established, in large part because she realized all through which she has gone was to help the next woman.
To her credit, she’s been nothing short of remarkable — with God, her Helper, steering the way.
