DALLAS — During an interview this week, Erica Simmons was asked how her competitive drive in life has greatly helped propel her for the world of entrepreneurship.
“I’m my own critic,” Simmons told Making Headline News. “I do my best to the best version of myself every day and do better to perfect my craft as much as I did before. So, that’s always being a thing that’s driven me in business and even in my everyday life.”
Fortunately for Simmons, it is due in large part to her competitive nature, coupled with the divine calling on her life, that have given way to the startup of a business venture that has brought her a considerable amount of success as the CEO and Founder of Elegance N’ Style.
An endeavor she established in 2015, Simmons’ Elegance N’ Style is a Beaufort, South Carolina-based company that is widely known for individually design and hand-crafted products.

Powered by the catchphrase, “Designed With Grace, Styled In Elegance,” Simmons’ Elegance N’ Style has blossomed into a national fixture in this ever-so-competitive custom design industry, having serviced consumers in over 20 U. S. states and more than 250 American cities.
“We design with you in mind,” Simmons said in an introduction of her venture on Elegance N’ Style’s Facebook business page.
As Simmons explained, the key for having garnered sustained success through her business is centered largely on her ability to provide her customers with a uniquely assembled custom design product that would enhance their wardrobe.
“My mission is making people feel good about themselves,” Simmons, a native of Killeen, Texas, said. “Give them that extra push of level of confidence and elegance to their style. Also, to make an awareness of modesty is still beautiful. Also, I connect with different people, and I have an opportunity to encourage and push my customers just like they push me.”
Having been raised in Beaufort, Simmons’ Elegance N’ Style has been dubbed the source of all clothing accessories, most notably lap scarves, women’s flower pins, bow brooches, men’s lapels, fabric necklaces, and shoulder bows, among other custom design items.
Much to her delight, many — if not all — of her clients customarily are wowed by the finished product of their desired hand-crafted accessories.
“I love to see my customers happy,” Simmons said. “Seeing them wear what they entrusted me to design for them — from the simplest pieces to the most extravagant design — it’s a humbling and rewarding feeling.”
A 2012 graduate of Seabrook, South Carolina’s Whale Branch Early College High School, Simmons was inspired by her mother to fortify her dreams of becoming an entrepreneur.
“Watching her for years make things out of nothing was always inspiring,” Simmons said of her mother’s fervent guidance. “She sews as well. She has helped and guided me as she watched me go through different stages of business.”
To her distinctly unique credit, Simmons undoubtedly has responded masterfully in following in her mother’s massive footsteps as a credible and successful custom designer, one whose best and brightest days are well ahead of her.
“It’s imperative to esteem and inspire others daily, because you just don’t know what a nice gesture, a compliment, an encouragement can do to someone,” Simmons said. “You can change someone’s world, their atmosphere by the way you treat them. I want to leave the impression, ‘You may forget my name, but you will never forget how I made you feel.’”
