For Hawkins, the beloved Founder and Senior Pastor of New Life Global Church of Bastrop, Louisiana — a rural Morehouse Parish establishment that is comprised of roughly 11,365 residents, according to the latest U. S. census — her rise to becoming a resourceful, Christian-based author comes amid humble beginnings.
A native of Mer Rouge, Louisiana, Hawkins is the mastermind behind I’ve Been There, her featured written work that, much to her delight, has been as good advertised since its ceremonious release in July 2021.

“(This book is designed) to help God’s people to come out of bondage,” Hawkins, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, explaining the divine purpose for her new book. “Winners are not people who never fail, but kingdom-minded people who never quit.”
A spiritually empowering and fascinating book that is comprised of 94 pages in lengths, Hawkins’ I’ve Been There is accompanied by a rash of transparencies disclosed by this compassionate, big-hearted and devout woman of faith.
“I have been there, and you have been there too,” Hawkins vividly reminds her readers in a detailed synopsis of her book at Amazon.com. “Have you ever been in a place where you said, ‘God, if You get me out this place, I will never go back?’ I know I have been there and said that too. I have tried so many things in my life but, with almighty God, I survived! What are you afraid of? I’ve been there too! Winners are not people who never fail, but kingdom minded people who never quit! I have been there! God made me and you so much stronger than we know! I’ve made mistakes, had struggles, and regret many things from my past. But you are not your mistakes and struggles! You are here with the power of God to shape your day and your future!”
According to Hawkins, God gave her the awe-inspiring vision a little more than two decades ago to compose an I’ve Been There book she needed somewhere in the neighborhood one month to write.
“God is a healer, a forgiving God, a life-changing, deliverance, restoration freedom God (Who) can turn a mess into a message, a test into a testimony, and a victim into a victory,” said Hawkins, explaining the divine message she aspires to send to her audience through her newly-released book.
When asked in what ways do I’ve Been There aligns with the purpose for which God has created her, Hawkins appropriately reference couple of familiar, thought-provoking Biblical passages.
“Psalm 134:14 says, ‘I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made,’” Hawkins explained. “It’s part of His love for me. We have to always live in God’s purpose. Nothing will never happen without God ordaining it. Psalm 57:2 says, ‘I cry out to God Most High, to God Who fulfills His purpose for me.’ God has number all my days and will fulfill every promise and purpose He has for me.”
By all accounts, Hawkins has become the beneficiary of an array of favorable feedback since the much-anticipated release of I’ve Been There.

“Feedback from the people are words like ‘outstanding’ (and) ‘You blessed me, you encouraged me, you motivated me, you gave me hope and peace, you saved my life,’” Hawkins said.
Nearly two months removed from having witnessed her authorship debut come to fruition, Hawkins said other books are forthcoming — much sooner than later.
“Yes, I plan to write in the near future,” she said. “Yes, I’ve been there. God made me and you so much stronger than we know. We are here with the power of God to shape our days and future.”
