Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard that went down to the skirts of his garments. As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. (Psalm 133:1-3 KJV)
A WEEKEND FOR THE AGES
Ironically, this past weekend was one Prentice Leonard will remember — and embrace — for the rest of his life.
“This weekend, as well as my first official Father’s Day (Sunday) for me was emotional, special, loving, and fulfilling,” Leonard wrote via Facebook late Sunday night. “To be able to have my daughter with my gorgeous wife and loving support are amazing. I got a breath of fresh air I’ve been needing for quite a while. And my dad’s big brother, which is big brother, and seeing my auntie and uncle this weekend was so special and touching. I love my family and I love God, and I give Him the praise honor and glory for bringing me this far. I’m thankful, I’m blessed, I’m honored….Blessings and Happy Father’s Day to me.”
And what an incredible Father’s Day weekend it was for Leonard whom, much to his delight, witnessed his authorship debut come to fruition, courtesy of the ceremonious book release of Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point of View Volume 2, the highly-anticipated anthology that is spearheaded by Virginia Beach, Virginia-based Visionary Author Deborah Juniper-Frye.
The sophomore version of Juniper-Frye’s collaborative written work comes approximately one year after she witnessed the debut of Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point Of View.

Just like last year, this anthology is accompanied by a variety of life-altering stories of Juniper-Frye’s male counterparts — 15 in all, to put it more precisely.
As part of Making Headline News’ 2023 Essence Music Festival advance coverage leading to the “the party with a purpose” event June 29-July 3 in New Orleans, Leonard spoke about the excitement of emerging as a first-time published author, a milestone he will likely relish for years to come.

As Leonard explained, he has dreamt for some time — actually long before the birth of his daughter — of gracing the pages of a book.
Mission accomplished for the new Virginia-based father who, to his credit, has achieved his grandest milestone since the ceremonious birth of his baby girl.
Leonard has assumed Chapter 10 of Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point of View Volume 2, an fascinating, riveting segment entitled, Pouring On Empty.
“The reason I chose this story to tell because I needed to finally put it on paper,” Leonard told MHN. “And doing that, it became a part of my healing process, as well as helped others who have went through something similar. Or (better yet), to let people know you can do it and it’s not over and continue to push forward and trust as well as rely on God, even when you don’t know what to do and be honest with yourself.”
Interestingly enough, Leonard said he only needed a “few hours” to complete his chapter, this after he elected in January to join Juniper-Frye’s anthology.
HIS GOOD THANG
“The divine message I’m sending in Pouring On Empty is that it’s okay to put you first,” Leonard said. “It’s okay to say no to others. It’s okay not to be okay until you are better. Only settle for the best when it comes to you. Don’t wait until you are on empty to take care of you.”
Fortunately for Leonard, he has become the beneficiary of a rash of rave reviews since word spread that he was on the brink of making his authorship debut.
“I have been getting tremendous and wonderful feedback from my chapter, as well as the whole book,” Leonard said. “It has really touched lives around the world like Volume 1, and I just pray that God continues to get the glory in the mist of this wonderful project because it’s bigger than us.”
THIS IS THE LORD’S DOING
Now that his authorship debut has unfolded, Leonard seemingly is already looking ahead to Volume 3 of Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point of View.
“If there is Volume 3 of this book, I would love to do that,” Leonard, who has appeared on radio stations and podcasts, told MHN. “I’m always willing to write and help others through my personal experiences and testimonies.
“I hope this book, as well as my chapter, bless men and women across the world,” continued Leonard, who paid homage to wife (Sharonda Leonard) and their daughter (Aniya Leonard), his father (Bryan Leonard, who also co-author for Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point of View Volume 2), his late mother, and his “two unborn babies in heaven” (Brielle and Peanut).
A FATHER’S ROOKIE SEASON
GIRL DAD
“Know that real strength is not doing it alone, but real strength is admitting you need help and going to get it, never apologizing for who you are, only embracing it, for God makes no mistakes. Never go through anything alone and, if you’re stressed and (dealing with) traumas, find a way to make them right, even the ones that have been passed down. Break those chains.”
In Jesus Name.
