Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV)
SISTAS WITH VOICES
Approximately 10 months ago, Keisha Lonon was on her way out of the country.
Then suddenly, God showed up on her behalf.
In a mighty, miraculously memorable way, to put it more precisely.
For what it’s worth, though, Lonon was destined to witness — and embrace — that for which God had ordained her to accomplised.
“Visiting Tulum, Mexico in August 2023 played a huge part in conceiving the women’s empowerment platform and book,” Lonon, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, recalling the latest developments surrounding her latest book project. “Before arriving at Tulum, I intended to be in God’s presence. I wanted to connect and wait for God to tell me what was next for my second book.”

As Lonon vividly recalls, such a scenery was rather “peaceful and serene.”
“One morning, I sat on the penthouse rooftop, overlooking the trees and watching the birds in their homes, admiring God’s creations,” Lonon, a Washington, D.C.-based author, recalls. “At that moment, words could not fully express profound spiritual growth. I felt the presence of a spiritual presence. At that moment, I heard a gentle whisper in the wind, ‘A fatherless child.’ Confused yet intrigued, what am I supposed to do with this message? I was like, ‘Not a book about a fatherless child. What am I supposed to do with those words?’”

Thanks in large part to that divine intimate encounter with her Creator, Lonon was has been blessed to spearhead My SistaHood Has Soldiers, her highly-anticipated sophomore book that has already created a fervent buzz across various message boards and social media platforms.
An awe-inspiring, spiritually-empowering written work that is currently in its production’s final stages, Lonon this week announced that My SistaHood Has Soldiers also in the presale order phase and can be purchased via https://linktr.ee/keishalonon.
In kicking off Making Headline News’ national coverage of Sarah Jakes Roberts’ inaugural Woman Evolve Conference that takes place September 26-28 from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, Lonon vividly recalls how amid exploring the theme of a fatherless child, she wasted little time sharing such a life-altering concept with the women in the Tulum penthouse.
“I woke up with a sense of anticipation, ready to unveil my new book theme and gather data through a simple survey,” Lonon said. “Each woman had comments connected to her thoughts about a fatherless daughter. That is when I realized that it resonated with my own personal journey. There is a wide spectrum. You can be part of a fatherless child community with limited interactions with a hardworking father.”
Upon returning to U.S. soil, Lonon subsequently began the legwork for a book she senses will be as good as advertised amid its ceremonious release in August.
“I decided when I returned to the state, I would interview women who experienced limited interactions with their fathers,” Lonon told MHN. “I did not know who or when I would start this journey. The moment was impactful. I awaited the guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead me forward. I knew it was necessary for me to channel my energy and passion into creating a book centered on the subject of fatherless children. I returned to Washington, D.C.”
To he credit, she returned home harboring a newfound disposition on life for the most part.
Approximately a month or so after bolting Mexico, Lonon started the foundation for her latest book, most notably the landing page and domain. Consequently, she commenced to marketing her authorship masterpiece on various message boards and social media platforms the ensuing month.
Lonon’s My SistaHood Has Soldiers has been suitably dubbed a distinctly unique anthology, of sorts, given the book will include two other co-authors, a project that also will be comprised of a three-series project.
“I began to speak about My SistaHood, which has soldiers and posted about vulnerable moments as a single mother on social media,” Lonon explained. “For instance, a kind-hearted stranger approached me about 20 years ago, offering assistance and requesting that I do the same when I can. Instead of quietly supporting single moms on my own, I want to extend this opportunity to my amazing sista-friends to join me in making a significant impact in the lives of single moms this year.
“Together, we will pool our resources and present the proceeds to a deserving single mom of $1,250 within two weeks. To ensure fairness and transparency, I invite them to submit names of single moms who could benefit from our support. We will carefully review each submission, considering their circumstances and needs, and select an individual to receive the proceeds. This act influences the platform’s foundation and the book’s focus.”
To her credit, Lonon and Co. finished writing My SistaHood in April, approximately seven months after implementing the book’s legwork.
“The divine message: Trusting God throughout the process,” Lonon said. “He gave us the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a gentle whisper, recognizing it as the Holy Spirit. The mission is to create this platform, a beacon of hope, and support for women with strained relationships with their fathers and supporting single moms. The narrative takes readers on a poignant journey of resilience, friendship, and the indomitable spirit of women supporting women.
“My SistaHood Has Soldiers reverberates as a testament to the strength of female bonds and the life-altering potential of shared experiences and understanding.”
GOD’S LEADING LADY
When asked in what ways does her latest book aligns with the divine purpose for which God has created her, Lonon, whose authorship debut unfolded in April 2020 with the release of Being A Victim By Just Being Me, said:
“At my job, I empower women daily as a Restorative Justice Manager. As an entrepreneur, I empower women (as an emotional recovery coach) and I volunteer with young women. This book will build a women’s empowerment platform and a safe space to heal. My purpose is to empower women through love and support. “
Interestingly enough, Lonon has announced that plans for a book tour is presently in the works. In addition, as the co-host of the Just Us Healing US podcast — which is centered on mothers with children in prison — she is currently accepting bookings as a keynote speaker, she told MHN.
