I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill, but time and chance happeneth to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:11/KJV)
THE GRACE TO OVERCOME
Without question, Twanda Young’s heart was filled with joy.
The kind of the joy the world didn’t merely give her, the kind the world can’t begin to take away.
Said Young Friday night before her more than 1,700 followers via Facebook:
“Something to Chew On… Gratitude. My parents always instilled in me the power of gratitude, and today, I’m overflowing with it! THANK YOU!”
To grasp a thorough understanding of why Young deemed it essential to exemplify an attitude of gratitude, look no further than her latest milestone, one that had previously been in the works since last year sometime.

Young is one 14 co-authors who has graced the pages of Destiny Exposè: The Leading Ladies Volume 1, Master Destiny Life Coach Dr. Marcea B. Whitaker’s highly-anticipated written work that has created a national buzz across various message boards and social media platforms, given it has been dubbed a Barnes & Nobel bestseller.
“Imagine a book that sparks inspiration, ignites passion, and paves the way for future generations of leaders,” Young, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable developments surrounding her second authorship milestone. “That’s the vision Dr. Marcea B. Whitaker brought to life. She invited me and 14 other trailblazing leaders to share our stories, not just to recount our journeys, but to empower, encourage, and enlighten others.”
The official book launch for Destiny Exposè: The Leading Ladies Volume 1 took place Friday in Columbia, Maryland.
The anthology is available via Barnes & Noble online and where books are sold.
GOD-ORDERED STEPS
Generally, Destiny Exposé: The Leading Ladies Volume 1 is widely regarded as more than just a collection of stories, according to a detailed synopsis of this newly-released anthology via Barnes & Noble’s website.
“It’s a bold declaration of purpose, showcasing the strength, resilience, and grace required to become a true leading lady,” said a Barnes & Noble spokesperson for Dr. Whitaker’s latest anthology. “Each chapter illuminates a path for others to follow, empowering readers to walk, learn, and thrive. Your midnight leads to your morning. Your pain leads to your purpose. Your trial leads to your testimony. Let this book be the blueprint for someone else’s journey toward a fulfilled and purposeful life.
“It is an invitation to unmask your purpose, unveil your greatness, and uplift your tribe. Together, let’s turn our stories into a lasting legacy.”
The legwork for Destiny Exposé commenced a little more than a year ago.

“In my chapter, I unveil the pervasive trap of perfectionism and how it can hinder leadership,” Young, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based businesswoman, told MHN. “Often seen as a positive trait, perfectionism can become a crippling force, preventing leaders from reaching their full potential and even causing what I call ‘leadership hurt.’ This type of hurt is akin to the emotional pain people often experience in religious communities, where the pursuit of an unattainable ideal can lead to feelings of inadequacy and shame.
The CEO of LT3 Leadership Solutions, Young emphasized she felt inspired to disclose personal stories about “my own struggles” coupled with perfectionism, particularly how she overcame them to become a more effective leader.
“One particularly challenging experience involved a high-stakes presentation I was preparing,” Young recalled. “I spent countless hours agonizing over every detail, striving for absolute perfection. When I finally delivered the presentation, it was well-received, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that it wasn’t perfect enough.
“This experience taught me that perfectionism can be a self-defeating mindset, leading to unnecessary stress and anxiety. By understanding the negative impact of perfectionism, leaders can learn to embrace imperfection, build resilience, and ultimately achieve greater success. Instead of striving for perfection, leaders should focus on excellence and continuous improvement.
“This means setting realistic goals, learning from mistakes, and seeking feedback from others. By adopting this mindset, leaders can create a more positive and productive work environment for themselves and their teams.”
Interestingly enough, Young doesn’t take lightly the door God has opened, courtesy of her second authorship project this year.
“I feel honored to be a part of this vital piece of history,” Young, a native of Darlington, South Carolina, said. “By sharing our experiences, we hope to inspire leaders — both female and male — on their own paths to greatness. When future generations read and digest our stories, they’ll be inspired to reach for the stars and make a positive impact on the world.”
