Texas author Dr. Sylvia A. Cole walking mightily in her purpose with an unprecedented ninth book

MAKING HEADLINE NEWS WELCOMES DR. SYLVIA A. COLE

For the record, Dr. Sylvia A. Cole was only doing that about which God specifically commands us, according to Psalm 105:1.

That is, she was making known His deeds among the people which, much to her delight, isn’t such a bad thing, considering she basking in the glory of her element unlike never before.

“I’m a nine-time published author! Thank you, Lord!” Dr. Cole shared in a spirited Facebook post last week.

TEXAS-SIZE IMPACT — To grasp a thorough understanding of why Houston’s Dr. Sylvia A. Cole, accomplished writer, deems it essential to often share of the goodness of her Creator, look no further than the immeasurable strides she’s made in recent years.
For starters, Dr. Cole is what many would describe as a serial author, in large part because it seems she writes and publishes books at, well…the drop of a dime.

To grasp a thorough understanding of why Dr.

Her latest published mastermind: “A Teen’s GPS For Finding Life’s Purpose,” her awe-inspiring project that made its ceremonious presence on the market on August 29, 2018.

For Dr. Cole, a Houston-area author, her latest book is her ninth overall and her fifth in what undoubtedly has been a banner year for this notable and gifted writer.

“I wrote this book, because of my experience of not truly being in purpose until a situation beyond my control pushed me into it,” Dr. Cole, a native of Jackson, Mississippi, told Making Headline News during an interview this week. “I realized for many years while I had success and a very happy life, I was not doing what God created me to do.”

Interestingly, a devout woman of faith who is walking diligently in her divine purpose, it was, by all accounts, because of Dr. Cole’s spiritual crossroads that she began to seek and consult God as only she could.

Look at her today, walking fervently in her purpose as only she could.

“Hence, I wanted to write this book for teens so they could begin to think about purpose now and not wait until life happens,” Dr. Cole said of her latest book. “I wanted to provide them with a thorough guide for being intentional about finding their life’s purpose.”

To her credit, Dr. Cole has done just that through her latest written document — as well as with the previous eight.

Besides “A Teen’s GPS For Finding Life’s Purpose,” Dr. Cole is the mastermind behind these remarkably compelling books:

Speak Believe And Experience the Manifestation of God’s Promises: Faith Confessions For Teens, released in 2018; Speak Believe And Experience The Manifestation Of God’s Promises: Faith Confessions For Singles, released in 2018; Speak Believe And Experience The Manifestation Of God’s Promises: Faith Confession For Women, released in 2018;

I Take God At His Word: How To Trust Him When You Can’t Trace Him, released in 2018; Lay Aside Your Weight And Rest: Finding Peace When Your Burdens Seem More Than You Can Bear, released in 2017; Called 2 Write: A Guide For Writers And Authors, released in 2017; and I Take God At His Word, released in 2015.

THAT’S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR — For Dr. Cole, a Houston-area author, her latest book is her ninth overall and her fifth in what undoubtedly has been a banner year for this notable and gifted writer. Amongst her biggest supporter is Carla Jackson, with whom Dr. Cole is pictured.

As for her latest project, which she says is generating “amazing” feedback, Dr. Coles stresses, among other things, that everyone was created for a purpose.

A divine purpose, that is.

“The Creator has an incredible plan for each of our lives and we should see the bigger picture of what life is all about and begin to live the life we were created to live,” said Dr. Cole said, who is the founder of Girls Prepped 4 Purpose (or GP4P), a nonprofit organization for teen girls ranging in ages 13 to 16. “I do not wish that teens would end up in a place and waste valuable time doing or pursuing something for which they were not created to do. The time is now for teens to find their life’s purpose and this book is their GPS (system).”

SOLID SUPPORT SYSTEM — A book Dr. Cole labels an “expansion” of her first book that was released in November 2014 (“I Take God At His Word), she acknowledged that God revealed to her the book’s title while standing at my mother’s bedside, during which she was in Intensive Care Unit and in a coma for nearly three weeks. Holding Dr. Cole’s latest book is
Tristan Thigpen.

And then there is “I Take God at His Word: How To Trust Him When You Can’t Trace Him,” Dr. Cole’s spiritually gut-checking book that made its much-anticipated presence on the market in  March 2018, approximately two months after this writer began composing it.

A book Dr. Cole labels an “expansion” of her first book that was released in November 2014 (“I Take God At His Word), she acknowledged that God revealed to her the book’s title while standing at my mother’s bedside, during which she was in Intensive Care Unit and in a coma for nearly three weeks.

DESTINY STEPS — Dr. Cole is the founder of Girls Prepped 4 Purpose (or GP4P), a nonprofit organization for teen girls ranging in ages 13 to 16.

“My siblings and I agreed to have her weaned off life support,” Dr. Cole recalled, adding that her mother is her No. 1 fan and supporter. “I was on rotation on the 16th day and, as the nurses unplugged her machines, less than five minutes later, she started breathing on her own.”

And the rest, as they say, was history.

But God.

That’s just like God.

To God be the glory.

THAT’LL PREACH — “The Creator has an incredible plan for each of our lives and we should see the bigger picture of what life is all about and begin to live the life we were created to live,” Dr. Cole said. “I do not wish that teens would end up in a place and waste valuable time doing or pursuing something for which they were not created to do. The time is now for teens to find their life’s purpose and this book is their GPS (system).”

Now we know why this faith-based, Christian-oriented author customarily finds herself making known His deeds among the people.

“I looked up into the heavens and said, ‘God, I take You at Your Word,” Dr. Cole said. “Hence, this situation beyond my control pushed me into purpose.”

That, after all, isn’t such a bad thing, considering she’s basking in the glory of her element unlike never before.

Houston’s Shelita Anderson walking in her divine purpose as an author of seven books and counting

A MAKING HEADLINE NEWS INDEPENDENCE DAY 2018 SPECIAL REPORT

EDITOR’S NOTE:This is the first of three Making Headline News in-depth news feature stories on Houston, Texas Author/Entrepreneur Shelita Anderson.

Shelita Anderson has been writing for a very long time.

Since she was a preschooler to be technical.

MORE ON AUTHOR SHELITA ANDERSON: http://www.shelitaanderson.com

DESTINY STEPS THROUGH AUTHORSHIP — A devout woman of faith whose immeasurable gifts as an accomplished writer have given way to her becoming a beacon of light in the Body of Christ, Houston’s Shelita Anderson is especially known for having composed two notable books entitled, The Power, The Prayer, And The Praise and Taste And See: Poetry For The Soul.

“I have been writing since I was four years old,” Anderson told Making Headline News this week. “I love to write and would write all over the wall and paper and anything that I could write on. My dad bought me a chalkboard. I understood that I was called to write about 10 years ago.”

For Anderson, a native of Houston, she has gone to great lengths to fully embrace the calling for which she was created, particularly through the ever-so-competitive world of authorship.

That’s because Anderson has written seven books to date, including three children’s books within the past five years.

“I chose to produce the books, because I believed that I was called to do so,” Anderson said.

A devout woman of faith whose immeasurable gifts as an accomplished writer have given way to her becoming a beacon of light in the Body of Christ, Anderson is especially known for having composed two notable books entitled, The Power, The Prayer, And The Praise and Taste And See: Poetry For The Soul.

Anderson’s Taste And See: Poetry For The Soul was officially released in 2015 and is a 122-page written document that is comprised of a collection of poems dealing with life’s assortment of challenges and disruptions.

In this book, each poem is accompanied by scripture, which is a reflection page for journaling and daily meditation, according to a detailed description of Anderson’s book at Amazon.com.

“Taste And See Poetry For The Soul will help you indulge in the fruits of the spirit,” said a spokesperson for Anderson’s book at Amazon.com. “You’ll experience peace, joy, longsuffering, gentleness, wisdom, prosperity, forgiveness, and so much more.”

As for Anderson’s The Power, The Prayer, And The Praise, this particular book had been in the making for about the last five years, she acknowledged.

“When I look back at my notes, I have many books inside of me, but God always reveals to me when it is time to release the next book,” said Anderson, who finally witnessed the much-anticipated release of The Power, The Prayer, And The Praise earlier this year. “I am a believer and a minister of the gospel and it’s amazing how God reveals Himself through daily devotion, prayer, and meditation.”

An authorship tenure that dates back to 2013, Anderson is the mastermind behind five other books:

What God Says About Me, which was released in 2013

I Think Myself Happy, The Happy Book, which was released in 2013.

God’s Creation I Can See, released in 2014

My Mommy, Cancer, And Me, released in 2016 and,

The King’s Kid’s Prayer Book, which hit the market in 2018.

As for The Power, The Prayer, And The Praise, Anderson emphasizes that while there is power in the word of God, the word must be spoken by a believer.

THE JEREMIAH 29:11 FACTOR — For Anderson, a native of Houston, she has gone to great lengths to fully embrace the calling for which she was created, particularly through the ever-so-competitive world of authorship. That’s because Anderson has written seven books to date, including three children’s books within the past five years.

“When you speak the word and believe that God heard you and is a God that answers, you will see results based on the level of your faith,” Anderson explained. “The book is filled with scriptures on power, prayer, and praise, along with proclamations that you can say. It is a devotional with 31 days and bonus prayers in the back. There is power in the word of God.”

As for Taste and See: Poetry For The Soul- Poems, a book that is saturated with the word of God, Anderson acknowledged that while we are believing for a breakthrough from Almighty God, we can find comfort in poetry for hope, peace, love, and longsuffering, among other things.

“Come and dine with me and experience victory in the midst of a difficult situation,” Anderson said.

As expected, the feedback since her books’ release has been favorable.

WAY BACK WHEN — “I have been writing since I was four years old,” Anderson told Making Headline News this week. “I love to write and would write all over the wall and paper and anything that I could write on. My dad bought me a chalkboard. I understood that I was called to write about 10 years ago.”

“I have received several positive, divine and heartwarming remarks about both books,” Anderson said. “The books have blessed me. I use the books for daily devotional. I have used the books for my ladies meetings.”

This weekend will be no exception for Anderson when she partakes in an area book signing at the Spring Hill Marriott in downtown Houston July 7-9.

“I am anointed and appointed for such a time as this,” Anderson said of her well-publicized authorship tenure. “God has done great things in my life. I grew up in a family where we had love, discipline, joy, laughter and peace. My daddy picked cotton as a young man and worked his way up to a fence contractor and work so hard — even when he was not feeling well — and gave it all that he had. My mother was a nurse assistant and a medication aide, but look what the Lord has done with a girl that was born and had less than zero.”

STANDING OVATION — As expected, the feedback since Anderson’s books’ release has been favorable.

By and large, amongst the things about which Anderson doesn’t take lightly through her gifts as an author is just how far from where God has brought her.

“He brought me to new levels,” said Anderson, a woman of many hats who’s widely known also as a minister, intercessor,  conference speaker, entrepreneur, and spiritual leader, just to name a few. “I was determined to become the best that I could be. I worked my way through life, from my teenage years to adulthood. I am a wife, mother, registered nurse, and nurse leader. I have an MBA and there is no telling what else God has in store for me and for those that love Him.”

Houston-area author Grace L. Davis’ newly-produced book serves as a vital reminder that ‘Nothing is too hard for God’

Oh give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. (Psalm 105:1 KJV)

Because God has strategically set aside Grace L. Davis for His use, this devout woman of faith essentially has provided a whole new twist to a testimony service, of sorts.

HER SEASON OF GRACE AND FAVOR — An accomplished businesswoman and minister of the gospel, Houston-area author Grace L. Davis took yet another massive step toward her destiny when she witnessed the much-anticipated release of her book entitled, How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God.

One that, much to her delight, has appropriately been birthed through an awe-inspiring book.

“I chose to produce this book, because I wanted to give my testimony about the goodness of God,” Davis told Making Headline News this week.

The book to which Davis is alluding is one that is steadily advancing the kingdom for such a crucial time as now — or in these perilous times, if you will.

An accomplished businesswoman and minister of the gospel, Davis took yet another massive step toward her destiny when she witnessed the much-anticipated release of her book entitled, How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God (A Guide To Overcoming Life’s Obstacles).

A rather informative, thought-provoking written document that officially hit the market in February 2018, Davis’ How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God was assembled under the matchless unction of the Holy Spirit, a spiritually-enhancing trend this author has dubbed a testimony, of sorts, particularly when recalling God’s goodness and faithfulness during the course of her life.

MORE ON AUTHOR GRACE L. DAVIS: https://gracedavisbook.com/

Having become a widow during her second marriage, Davis — with her faith suddenly on trial unlike never before — had to learn to live by faith and not by sight, realizing, among other things, that God was — and still is — in total control of her life, according to a detailed breakdown of her book at Amazon.com.

THE ROMANS 8:18 FACTOR — A rather informative, thought-provoking written document that officially hit the market on in February 2018, Davis’ How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God was assembled under the matchless unction of the Holy Spirit, a spiritually-enhancing trend this author has dubbed a testimony, of sorts, particularly when recalling God’s goodness and faithfulness during the course of her life.

Interestingly, Davis’ memorable, faith-based journey began in the wake of what she describes as a “journal of testimonies,” many of which were eloquently penned in the form of her latest book.

“I realized it was not enough time during regular church service to testify to others that there is nothing too hard for God, so I decided to put it in print,” said Davis, a native of Natchitoches, Louisiana who is a faithful member of Houston’s historic New Light Christian Center Church (Pastored by Dr. Irishea Hilliard, the daughter of Bishop I.V. and Pastor Bridget Hilliard).

A book that is comprised of 62 pages, Davis began composing How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God in August 2012 and needed a little more than four years complete.

Surely, such an authorship journey was time well spent, considering the immediate feedback since her book’s release, by all accounts, has been favorable.

WAIT…THERE’S MORE — As if Davis’ book isn’t enough to wet the spiritual appetites of those who are in dire need of a some much-needed spiritual restoration, this talented Christian writer has produced a study guide to accompany her book, which was also made available to her reading audience in February 2018.

“Everyone that has read my book tells me it is an easy-reading book and it has given them new insight on how to apply the Word of God to their situation,” said Davis, the proud owner of a Houston-area consultant firm that specializes in credit counseling and credit restoration.

As if Davis’ book isn’t enough to wet the spiritual appetites of those who are in dire need of a some much-needed spiritual restoration, this talented, big-hearted Christian writer has produced a study guide to accompany her book, which was also made available to her reading audience in February 2018.

“The study guide will allow the reader to go back and refresh their memory of the most important factors in the book along with the answers to any questions the reader may have,” Davis said. “This book is my life’s story and is a tool for me to spread the word to others by example of God’s goodness and His answered prayers in my life. God has created me to give Him glory, to serve Him and honor Him for all He has done for me.”

Because if she’s said it once then, in all likelihood, she’s said it countless of times.

That is, comes hell or high water, nothing is too hard for God.

Which, come to think of it, is the direct message Davis is sending to modern-day church through her book.

IN GOD’S TIMING — A book that is comprised of 62 pages, Davis began composing How I Got Over: Applying The Word of God in August 2012 and needed a little more than four years complete.

“(God) is no respecter of person and God has all power although,” said Davis, reciting the words to the familiar passage that is Romans 2:11. “I would like the audience to know that having a renewed mind, a change of heart, and speaking God’s word from your mouth will change any circumstance. It is not about financial gain, it’s about being delivered from obstacles such as fear, depression, worry, and anxiety, which are road blocks to one’s success in life.”

Well said by this devout woman of faith whom, to her credit, has gone to great lengths to provide a whole new twist to a testimony service, of sorts.

One that, much to her delight, has appropriately been birthed through an awe-inspiring book.

Houston-based businesswoman Toni Anderson enjoying a global impact as a thriving group travel consultant

15590153_1718946021453527_4019456721345500304_nDALLAS — Various media reports have surfaced in recent years to insinuate, among other things, that the traditional family life is on a steady decline.

For instance, among the notable reasons, particularly as it relates to the decline of the American family is that, “It’s about money, not morals,” syndicated columnist Paul Krugman wrote back in his 2012 commentary in The Seattle Times.

Among the family-oriented Americans who have expressed constant concerns about this notion is Houston-area businesswoman Toni Anderson.

There’s more.
“My tag line is, ‘Toni, Your Travel Agent, With A Personal Touch,’” Anderson said. “I want all my clients to know and feel that they are important to me and my family. As a family we understand and value the loyalty of our clients.”

A native of Philadelphia who served in the United States Army for four years, Anderson, 47, is a well-established Group Travel Consultant, an adventurous profession that, to her credit, has greatly afforded her with the golden opportunity to help families reconnect with the traditional values and attributes that have helped shape family life — the way God predestined it to be.

“Most of my clients are families,” Anderson told Making Headline News. “Today’s families are not as close as they used to be. As a child, I remember when my mom always took us somewhere for the summer.  We had a family vacation. My mom didn’t have lots of money, so all vacations were road trips.  As siblings, we bonded in the back of a station wagon driven by my aunt.”

Wait, there’s more.

“My tag line is, ‘Toni, Your Travel Agent, With A Personal Touch,’” Anderson said. “I want all my clients to know and feel that they are important to me and my family. As a family we understand and value the loyalty of our clients.”

Aside from an extensive amount of traveling, amongst Anderson’s chief responsibilities through her business venture is to routinely introduce an assortment of cruise and travel packages to consumers.

“I specialize in Virgin travelers and groups,” Anderson said. “I focus on families of all ages, from six months to 90 years.”

In addition — and fortunately for her — what has undoubtedly become a booming, thriving business venture has given way to her having experienced trips of a lifetime.

How else to explain why she has visited luxurious establishments such as South America, as well as a plethora of sites in the Caribbean and Mexico, not to mention having toured nearly half of the United States?

“I truly believe God created this beautiful earth and we should see as much of His creation as we can via traveling,” said Anderson, explain in great detail her mission for engaging in such a profession. “It is good to see and learn other cultures.  You will be exposed to others by traveling.”

Not to mention reconnecting and revisiting something that has seemingly been nonexistent in American families for some time — that priceless, yet rich camaraderie.

“I have a family reunion cruise coming up June 17-22, 2017,” said Anderson, adding that her husband, Darryl and her son, Antonio, are amongst her her biggest supporters in what has become a successful business. “This event is multiple families coming together to cruise.  We will have family competition games and more.  One example is each family is being asked to come up with T-shirt design and the best design wins a gift.”

All of which is to say why family values are extremely key and vital, Anderson acknowledged, particularly in the supposed traditional American family, whereby there has seemingly been an unyielding dysfunction.

SHE'S SO COOL --- By and large, Anderson strongly believes that through her flourishing business, coupled with her relentless faith, she has the remedy for helping families recapture that close-knit unity, something that can take place outside the confines of their respective communities. “My mom always kept an open line of communication with us,” Anderson said. “There was nothing we couldn't talk to our mom about. We would sing, talk and play in the car all along bonding. My mom taught us valuable lessons about life and people. She said, ‘In this world, always remember you have each other. There will be times when you argue and fight, but you are always sisters and brothers and don't let no one come between you all.’

family-on-ccl“My mom is an only child, so I think that is why she said that,” Anderson continued. “I tell people all the time if my mom could take four children on a vacation with the little funds she had, you can too. I assist my clients with a payment plan to afford their dream vacations.”

All while greatly helping families reconnect with the traditional values and attributes that have helped shape family life.

After all, that is how God predestined it to be.
