MEMPHIS — Leatriece G. Franklin is a thriving, resourceful businesswoman who not only exemplifies the heart for helping people from various walks of life to live and savor the abundant life our Creator came to give us.
More than anything, she aspires daily to help others save lives — literally.
A native of Memphis, Franklin is owner and chief executive officer of LF Mobile LifeSaving Courses, LLC, an effective and resourceful CPR-oriented venture that is becoming a fixture in the Mid-South and surrounding areas.
During an interview with Making Headline News this week, Franklin, 44, explained in great detail how her well-established, credible business was created in large part to train as many individuals and groups as possible in advanced and basic First Aid CPR and AED.
According to a 2017 report surrounding the American Heart Association, each year, more than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the United States, Franklin was quick to cite during the interview.
In addition, this longtime CPR expert stressed that nearly 90 percent of people who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests ultimately wound up dying, a staggering, jaw-dropping figure she sensed could greatly be reduced with the necessary precautions, coupled with proper CPR training.
“This essentially means that LF Mobile LifeSaving Courses has the potential to impact many lives,” Franklin said. “Services are literally brought to you, which is where the mobile piece comes in. Many people are unable to attend traditional courses for a variety of reasons, and being mobile eliminates the access barrier associated with traveling to a class.”

All things considered, Franklin said amongst the things she admires about her business is realizing, among others things, that her clients are fully empowered and skilled or, as she labeled it, “more than up to standard,” especially with regards to the potential to save a life — or two, or three or, well…you get the point.
“I love seeing the enjoyment on their faces when they attend class, from adults to children,” said Franklin, a longtime Registered Nurse who currently serves as a Staffing Manager with Saint Francis Hospital in the Bartlett, Tennessee area.
Moreover, LF Mobile LifeSaving Courses are available mostly to individuals ranging in ages nine years and older because, as Frankin can great attest, “Any child age nine and above that can appropriately demonstrate skills can be awarded a certification because CPR training is for any and every one.”
Interesting enough, Franklin, whose wealth of experience through professional CPR training spans more 15 years, stressed that there is not one demographic that she can think of that could not benefit from learning CPR.
Having been rerouted at the rank of Captain with the United States Army Reserves, Franklin’s passion for teaching CPR courses was discovered at the Military base in nearby Millington.
Today and to her distinct credit, LF Mobile offers classes in Kentucky, Arkansas, and Mississippi, among other establishments.
“Being mobile means I am willing to travel to whomever and wherever training is needed,” Franklin said.
As for her primary mission for unyieldingly pushing and promoting her business, Franklin acknowledged that LF Mobile strives to help improve survival rates related to cardiac arrest, a trend that is implemented by providing high quality instructions with each and every course.
“My mom was a nurse for many, many years with the Veterans Administration hospital here in Memphis,” Franklin explained. “Her strength was amazing. She worked full-time and went to school full time to become a nurse. When I became a nurse, her work ethic always stuck with me and I made it a daily goal to always go above and beyond with caring for others. That has also been part of every class I teach. No one will every say, ‘Oh she just went through the motions,’ when it comes to the classes I teach. This is my passion. Nothing less than amazing is acceptable.”
Generally, LF Mobile offers courses Monday through Friday starting at approximately 6 p.m. and anytime on the weekend.
Franklin’s itinerary includes a July health fair at a date and venue to be announced. In addition, she is scheduled to conduct CPR training for the Fifth Ward Church of Christ in Houston July 29. Also, she will appear at a health fair in August at a time and site to be announced and is scheduled to attend a health fair sponsored by Methodist South in September.
When asked why is it imperative that she esteems and inspires others daily, Franklin said, “Simply put, because someone’s life depends on it.”
In that order.
