MAKING HEADLINE NEWS WELCOMES MICHELLE BAREFOOT
Much to her delight, Michelle Perry Barefoot can be appropriately described as a serial entrepreneur.
Consider, for instance, the assortment of entrepreneurship-related hats this Hattiesburg, Mississippi-area businesswoman customarily wears.
For starters, Barefoot is the owner and chief executive officer of Barefoot Footography, LLC, whereby she is the featured photographer and specializes as a graphic artist.
Or as Barefoot eloquently puts it…
“I am an-all occasion photographer,” Barefoot, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, introducing her featured venture that was established in 2008.
Besides being afforded the luxury of displaying her immeasurable gift as a graphic artist — which allows Barefoot to customize cards, invitations, stationary, fliers, and more — she is owner of MBarefoot Marketing, LLC.
A marketing-oriented venture that is powered by what is known as the Plan B Marketing Group, MBarefoot Marketing is comprised of solutions for small businesses and is centered mostly on helping entrepreneurs do their business better.
Also, there is another side of Plan B, Barefoot acknowledged, that is called Plan B Income Solutions, whereby she routinely helps individuals create secondary incomes while working from home on a part-time basis, mostly notably until their residual income will give way to them retiring from their respective jobs.
But wait. That isn’t all that this progressive and resourceful businesswoman does.
That’s because Barefoot is the co-owner of Media Magnets, a business that is centered largely on helping increase individuals and/or business owners’ presence via social media and other public platforms.
“It’s important to keep your message before your intended audience,” Barefoot said. “Not everyone understands the different algorithms associated with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. We can help by boosting posts, likes, videos, and more, and by teaching people the importance of how to use the different social media platforms such as using hash tags on Instagram to get people engaged in your posts.”
In addition, Barefoot is heavily affiliated with NectarKast, whereby she serves as a Regional Dealer for this proximity marketing company.
“We offer 100 and 300 meters — that is the same as a football field or three football fields in all directions — beacons that help get your message out to where everyone’s eyes are on his or her cell phone,” Barefoot said. “A 40-character message is sent to a Bluetooth activated Android device, and once the message is delivered, the recipient can click on the notification and it will take them to a website, landing page, or even a personal social media page.
“These small devices are half the cost of other devices and in an independent study, it works more effectively and efficiently than our competitors devices. My partner and I started with this company because of the vision and the integrity of the developers/owners. “
Also, Barefoot is an Independent Consult for Scentsy.
“To think of the journey I have been on, it nearly wears me out to just think of it,” Barefoot said. “I worked predominantly in the medical field for 24 years with the last ten (years) or so in the mental health arena. The Lord knew what He was doing, placing me in the particular area at that particular time in my life.”
As for what has fueled her desire to delve off into the ever-so-competitive world of entrepreneurship, Barefoot doesn’t shy away from the notion that she essentially was born into it.
“Competition runs in my family and in my veins,” said Barefoot, a proud Native American and a descendent of the Tsalagi Nation that is also known as Cherokee (originally AniYunwiya, meaning “real, leading or principal people”). “Growing up with two older brothers, I was subjected to their joking, teasing, and winning was a must. They taught me to be tough and competitive at a young age.”
Such a trend, to her credit, has benefited her mightily.
How else to explain why she can, by all accounts, be appropriately described as a serial entrepreneurship?
“My resilience comes from the many trials and tribulations I have been through,” Barefoot said. “Many people would not have survived just a few of life’s travesties that have been placed in my way, but the obstacles only caused me to be stronger. God gives His hardest battles to His strongest soldiers and, evidently, He thinks I am one tough soldier.”
Widely known as amongst her peers as a “Virtuous Woman” — in large part because she has Proverbs 31 tattooed on her wrist to remind her that, ‘Even on my bad days, I have a legacy to leave’ — Barefoot’s emphasized that her businesses cater mostly to people over the age of 18 and have allowed her to travel regularly as a result.
By and large, amongst the things about which she is especially appreciative is the fact that she is fulfilling the purpose for which God has created her.
How remarkably impressive for this, a well-respected businesswoman, who can be appropriately described as a serial entrepreneur.
“There is so much I love about my businesses,” Barefoot said. “I am thankful I can work from home and work into the night, because I am a night owl and definitely not a morning person. I prefer to get up late and work extra late into the night or early morning.
“The diversity also allows me to leave home when I need to and travel if and when it is possible,” Barefoot continued. “I am a self-motivator and I work best alone or with a select few. I am not the ‘work in a cubicle from 9-to-5’ type person. I never have been and never liked that setting.”
Amongst the obvious reasons is that she’s functioning fervently in her element as a progressive, resourceful businesswoman.
Consider, for instance, the assortment of entrepreneurship-related hats she customarily wears in the process.
