PURPOSED FOR ADVERSITY

Regardless of how discouraging or dysfunctional things had become, say this about Pamela Reece:

She was determined not to faint (or give up) in her day (present time) of adversity.

“On various occasions, I’d be in the company of friends, sharing portions of my story, growing up in a dysfunctional setting and the adversities I had to overcome,” Reece, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable developments that fueled her desire to compose her latest book.

“Initially, the conversations were just a means to socialize and share my testimony of God’s faithfulness to me through the years,” Reece continued. “I would go from one experience to the next as my friends listened intently…so much that they strongly suggested I write a book.  I quickly dismissed the idea of writing, because it seemed so daunting.”

All things considered, amongst the things that Reece had ultimately discovered was that God had other ideas, particularly with her regards to her immeasurable gifts as a writer.

To her credit, Reece’s authorship talents have come full circle, given she is the mastermind behind the spiritually-empowering book entitled, “I Chose The Good: Turning Adversity Into Advantage,” an awe-inspiring project that, according to this Boston-area writer, essentially aligns with the purpose for which she was created.

“Whenever God sends a deliverer, the opposition will wage war so that the deliverer doesn’t walk in his or her purpose,” said Reece, a devout woman of faith whom, given her array of hardships, is sounding as confident as she’s ever been in quite some time. “The opposition knows the Deliverer if given free course, will powerfully impact lives and generations to come.  So adversity was sent to smother my identity and purpose in the earth, yet every trial was sent to shape my personality but only for the better.  What seemed unfair, unjust and horrific, God has turned it for my good.”

Especially through “I Chose The Good: Turning Adversity Into Advantage,” this spiritually-equipping written work that, much to Reece’s delight, was birthed amid all sorts of adversity that emerged in her life to challenge her faith.

Still, come hell or high water, this Christian-based author didn’t merely allow her faith to waver.

If nothing, she deemed it essential to become even more intentional, particularly from a spiritually perspective, considering she steadfastly made it point to draw closer to God in the process.

Talk about demonstrating enough spiritual maturity by simply embracing adversity.

“Without the adversity, I would not have the advantage today of sharing this interview with the world,” Reece said. “Statistics tell us that eight out of 10 rapes are committed by someone the victim knows.  Every nine minutes, child protective service agencies find evidence of sexual abuse.”

Interesting, Reece disclosed some other notable facts to better support her purpose for assembling “I Chose The Good: Turning  Adversity Into Advantage.”

A native of Boston, Reece’s “I Chose the Good: Turning Adversity Into Advantage” is her personal memoir that details in length her growing up in a home of severe dysfunctionality and adversity.  This book, in fact, goes into great length of how she was exposed to abandonment, alcoholism, verbal abuse, and sexual molestation.

“I Chose The Good: Turning Adversity Into Advantage” is Reece’s first published book and, earlier this week, she told Making Headline News that after the forthcoming re-launch of “I Chose the Good,” more literary works will surface in the pipeline before year’s end.

“Today and the future are mine to dream, describe, and define,” Reece said. “I am particularly passionate about those who are a little older like myself, who know that they’re made for more and have an insatiable desire to pursue a lifelong dream and touch the world.”

To her credit, she’s doing just that — regardless of how discouraging or dysfunctional things might seem.
