MAJOR BOSS MOVE
In what many sense is an ever-so-competitive nursing industry, North Carolina businesswoman Tammy Jurnett-Lewis deemed it essential to step outside the box by strategically aiding others in her field to broaden their horizon and maximize their potential.
A native of Maury City, Tennessee, Jurnett-Lewis is the mastermind behind the inaugural “Act Like A Nurse, Think Like A Boss” Summit, a two-day event for nursing professionals/leaders, future nurse entrepreneurs, and other healthcare professionals, she announced during an interview this week with Making Headline News.
An assembly that will take place in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Raleigh Convention Center (located at 500 South Salisbury Street in the downtown area) on February 28-29, 2020, this summit is designed to greatly enable nurses and aspiring nurses to become knowledgeable about a variety of leadership skills, most notably business-related strategies, as well as tips on how to network with other industry leaders.
Early registration for the “Act Like A Nurse, Think Like A Boss” Summit is presently underway and ends October 31.

Powered Jurnett-Lewis’ Ideal Healthcare Services — her consulting firm for small business start-ups in the healthcare industry that was established in 2015 — this summit will offer golden opportunities for nursing and aspiring nursing professional to reinforce their respective brand, network, and launch new services and, most of all, acquire the essential knowledge that would enable them to become a “boss,” according to a spokesperson for this event.
“Come ready to learn, network, and be inspired by some of the most influential healthcare professionals in the industry,” Jurnett-Lewis said.

In addition, she said attendees will have unlimited access to vendors in what is known as the “Nurse Boss Marketplace Place.”
Acknowledging that each presenter is either a nurse or healthcare professional, organizers anticipate approximately 200 attendees to this year’s summit, which will include what Jurnett-Lewis describes as 28 “breakout presenters” and two keynote speakers.
Stephenie Brinson (FNP-BC) will be opening day’s featured speaker. Monique Doughty (RN, BSN), widely known as, “Nurse Mo,” will close out the summit as the featured speaker.
Lunch will be provided and attendees will be given complimentary head shots.
“The purpose of this event is to give nurses the courage to capture their dreams of becoming business owners and nurse leaders by equipping them with the confidence and knowledge needed to get started in the area of expertise desired,” said Jurnett-Lewis, explaining the purpose and mission for the conference.
Interesting, Jurnett-Lewis said that two business scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each will be given to one new business and one existing business.
