Dallas/Fort Worth businesswoman Luckey Munroe defies seemingly insurmountable odds, discovers her purpose as a successful entrepreneur

DALLAS — Everything happens for a reason.
Even a person’s name, mind you.
If anyone can greatly attest to this notion, it’s Manikka Shun-Keran Thompson, who’s widely known as “Luckey Munroe.”
As Thompson, a rising Texas businesswoman, explained during an interview this week with Making Headline News, there is a rather unique correlation surrounding why she elected to adopt the name, “Luckey Munroe.”
No one, it seems, can break it down the way she can.
“Luck is a coincidental blessing, and I must say I am super, duper blessed and Luckey,” Thompson said. “I am a Pisces, the best sign there is and the sign that carries all the other signs. I was born March 4, 1990. March is the month of the leprechaun and pot of gold. I mean, March is a lucky month. However, clovers are normally three leaves, but when you find a four-leaf clover, that means good luck, right?”
Wait. These assortment of analogies are about to become even more intriguing, as far as Thompson is concerned.
“So, again,” she said, “I was born the third month of the year on the fourth day…additionally, in a year beginning a new decade. Moreover, 3+4=7. Now, you tell me, am I’m not Luckey? I’m super spiritual and I can go on, but this is where my name Luckey birth from.
As for “Munroe,” well, let’s just say that Thompson is only keeping it 100, for the record.
“I’m absolutely infatuated with beauty, so of course, I’m a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe,” Thompson explained. “But, most importantly, my lovely hometown which is Monroe, Louisiana, makes up Munroe for the second part of my name.”
A name that, according to Thompson, is very dear to her, this 30-year-old single mother of three has gone to great lengths to provide a life filled with abundance and prosperity for her family.
Luckey Munroe has become a fixture in Dallas/Fort Worth as a professional makeup artist, barber, and stylist with other credible ventures presently in the works, she told MHN.
For Luckey Munroe, her rise to entrepreneurial success comes amid humble beginnings.
Having dropped out of high school after attending a few DFW-area institutions, Luckey Monroe eventually acquired her General Educational Diploma (or GED) at 23 years of age. From there, the sky undoubtedly was the limit for a young mother whom, to her credit, has defied arguably the toughest of odds.
THING OF BEAUTY
After earning her GED, Luckey Munroe subsequently enrolled at Richland College, where she studied Accounting and garnered a few credits. It wasn’t long thereafter, though, that Luckey Munroe’s luck had essentially run out — once again.
Only this time, such misfortune came in the form a job layoff which, truth be told, appeared to be just the ideal obstacle that would fuel her fervent drive to her destiny.
“When my former job was acquired and I was one of the ones selected to be laid off in July of 2020, I decided to go full time with my passion and hobby, which is becoming a barber and continuing as a stylist and freelance MUA (makeup artist),” Luckey Munroe said.
Ever since she deemed it imperative to dilgently step out on faith, she has steadfastly devised ways to enhance her gifts, thus establish sustained success.
So far, so good.
“Love and passion drove me into my prosperous purpose,” Luckey Munroe said. “Since my adolescence, I’ve always been a hustler and I’m really big on DIY’s (do it yourself), no matter the given task. Whether it be home decor, changing tires, or applying lashes, I’m willing to learn how to do any and everything on my own.
“In my own words, ‘I am the master at figuring ‘ish out,’ and it is the history behind the art that makes my heart smile and soul glow.”
As Luckey Munroe recalls, it wasn’t until after she had entered motherhood that she began to discover her purpose as a leader or, as she specifically acknowledged, “serving all generations with my many gifted talents and abundance of wisdom.”
For this young, vibrant businesswoman, her rise to success came courtesy of prayer. Lots of it, to be honest.
“I prayed to the Most High (God) to bless my hands and He said, ‘My child, use your hands.’ I am starting my legacy and building an empire and I won’t stop until my kids, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and their kids and many generations after that reign upon it. I get to touch and meet beautiful souls. We build Kings and Queens over here.”
Because, after all, everything happens for a reason.
Even a person’s name, mind you.
“It was all in God’s plan and purpose for me,” Luckey Munroe says without hesitation. “Glory! Growing into the Queen that I am, it was not easy getting here, but by the grace of God and His mercy over my soul, I am meant to be. I found me. I have a purpose. I am walking into my destiny and this favor I have; I just want every soul and spirit I meet to share or experience it, too. I live to love, spread positive energy, and I’m so ready to share my wisdom and wealth. As I grow, I see flowers all around me and we blossom.”
