My soul shall make her boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear thereof and be glad (Psalm 34:2 KJV); Come and hear, all you who fear God, And I will declare what He has done for my soul (Psalm 66:16 NKJV).
ON FIRE FOR GOD
For many people, 2020 undoubtedly has been a year filled with an array of life-altering obstacles.
For Evangelist Nakatia Clay, however, 2019 was a year that, in many aspects, changed the overall landscape of her life.
Both in the natural and spirit, to put it more precisely.
Especially from a spirit standpoint.
But God…
“(That year) 2019 was a very tough year for me spiritually,” Clay, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable developments that contributed mightily to her having composed her third book. “I mean, I had some serious spiritual warfare going on, but in the midst of that chaos, I remember referencing notes, scriptures and thoughts the Lord had given me in previous years and from those writings.
“I realized that I had written another book and I didn’t even know it,” Clay, a native of Caruthersville, Missouri, continued. “God showed me how to take those thoughts and put them all together, and thus was birthed Woman On Fire, and I believe it’s for such a time as this.”
Indeed, it is.

For what it’s worth, Clay’s Woman On Fire was assembled amid humble beginnings, a spiritually-empowering, tear-jerking written work that will make its ceremonious debut on New Year’s Eve 2020.
“I want people to understand how much God honors integrity, righteousness, and good character when you are standing face-to-face with adversity,” said Clay, explaining the single, most underlying reason she deemed it essential to write her latest book. “I am living proof that God will put a fire on the inside of you that will burn up every attack, every lie, every disappointment, and everything that stands in your way when you walk according to His word.”
A book she needed a little more than a year to complete — she began in January 2019 and finished in March 2020 — Clay’s divine message behind Woman On Fire is rather four-fold, to be technical:
- WOMEN — “We have had to walk through some tough situations and, truth be told, if it had not been for the anointing of God, we would have spiritually suffocated,” Clay explains. “It takes a powerful anointing to walk through the attacks of the enemy, but wisdom taught us how to fight back. We girded our loins with truth and adorned ourselves with the breastplate of righteousness. We put away our high heels and shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace and above all we took the shield of faith and without fail we quenched all the fiery darts of the wicked,”
- THE ANOINTING — “Walked with us in the valley,” Clay explains. “It kept us humble while we were on the mountain and it blanketed us while we were in the fire. It woke us up in the midnight hour and revealed the attack before it manifested. It spoke through us and made mountains move and valleys open. It confounded our enemies and caused strangers to seek us out.”
- LIKE HANNAH — “We did not retaliate. Like Ruth, we did not give up. Like Abigail, we were not selfish. Like Deborah, we faced every challenge with grit and confidence, because like Esther, we had the favor of God and that was enough.”
- THE COST — “Is high to be a woman on fire for the Lord,” Clay explains. “In your journey with me through Woman On Fire, I will share with you some intimate secrets that have helped me maintain my anointing through the brutal attacks of the enemy. I talk about maintaining good character and possessing integrity through the attacks of the enemy and the chaos of life. You will learn how to advance to higher ground and develop a deeper relationship with the God who makes it all possible. I am excited to release to you what God has released in me: Woman On Fire.”
Weeks before the much-anticipated release of Woman On Fire, Clay has already become the beneficiary of a rash of rave reviews.
“Although no one has read the book yet, so many people have witnessed to what I’ve written in it,” Clay said. “This is my way of knowing that God is the Author of it. I humbly anticipate that when the world does read it, it will be life changing.”
An official book launch and signing for Clay’s Woman On Fire will take place January 30 at the Caruthersville Public Library, located at 707 West 13th Street from 2 to 4 p.m. CDT during which attendees will get to know the author.
Also, a Q&A segment will also take place, refreshments will be served, and attendees will be entertained by a special singing guest.
CDC guidelines will be enforced during this event.
AND THE BIBLE SAYS…
When asked how Woman On Fire aligns with the purpose for which God has created her, Clay wasted little time referencing the familiar passage that is Jeremiah 1:5.
“I always knew that God had given me the gift of writing,” Clay, the co-founder of ReachUp Outreach Ministry, says without hesitation. “I had written one book years ago, but I gave up because I didn’t think it would go anywhere. In 2017, I was approached by a complete stranger who began to prophesy over my life.”
As Clay — who credits her spiritual leaders, Bishop Tommy L. Cobb and First Lady Shirley Cobb of PPC New Life Deliverance Temple for the favorable strides she made in recent years — vividly recalls, such a prophesy had subsequently enhanced her immeasurable faith walk with Almighty God.

“He told me things that only God knew, and one thing he shared with me was that God said I was an author and that there were many books inside of me,” Clay, an accomplished entrepreneur and transformational speaker, recalls. “This was before I had decided to write again. Everything the man shared with me that day has come to pass and, since then, I’ve written three books. I was born to write. It’s part of God’s divine plan for my life. I believe it’s God’s way of sharing His message of hope with the world.”
So much for was undoubtedly was a year that was mired by much turbulence, a year that, in many aspects, changed the overall landscape of her life.
But God…
