And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. (Joel 2:25 KJV)
SEASON OF A REBIRTH
Like so many around the world, 2020, at some point in time, had begun to take its toll on Elder Joan T. Randall.
As Randall recalls, even before things had went on a massive, unlikely global pause amid the coronavirus outbreak, this accomplished businesswoman-turned-minister recalls how her faith had suddenly become tried and tested unlike never before.
“(The year) started as a very challenging year,” Randall explained. “COVID-19 created emotional havoc on everyone. The uncertainties, the scare of the lockdown, and the deaths that were popping up everywhere scared me because I have siblings in the medical field and a daughter that worked as a youth counselor, which was an essential position.”
As if the unprecedented global pandemic wasn’t to cause major concerned amongst her loved one, Randall’s ministry was affected mightily by this deadly widespread.
“I had a two-day, in-person conference scheduled to take place on March 27-28, Randall said. “Everything was set, including paid flights and hotel accommodations for guest speakers. Ten days before the event, the country went on full lockdown, and I panicked for a few hours. The airlines would not refund the tickets, and the hotel gave me six months to reschedule the event for a different date. My credit card was charged for all the expenses, and it was no fault of my own. This was clearly a force majeure, and I was not happy about having those charges hit my account.”

Still, even after a COVID-19 pandemic that, to this day, has claimed the lives of more than a half million around the world, Randall can greatly attest to this pivotal, God-orchestrated notion, according to 1 Peter 5:10: But may the God of all grace, Who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, will make you perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
Much to her delight, as the year progressed, so did matters that, by all accounts, had concerned Randall the most.
It is, in fact, because of Randall’s valiant contributions to the Body of the Christ and the entrepreneurial sector that she has been named Making Headline News International Women’s Day Woman of the Year for 2021, joining longtime Texas businesswoman/author LaTambria Johnson for an honor that was announced by the publication’s Founder and Publisher.
“When I first learned about the honor, I was stunned,” said Randall, a Charlotte, North empowerment guru who has also emerged as a heavy favorite for Making Headline News Woman of the Year, which is announced annually in late December. “Then when it sunk in, I became ecstatic and overjoyed. I could hardly contain myself. I felt so blessed. I was grateful that I was chosen for such an esteemed honor. I was a ball of emotion after that.”
Originally called the International Working Women’s Day, this day is celebrated annually on March 8 and customarily commemorates the movement for women’s rights. According to www.internationalwomensday.com, organizations and individuals around the world have collectively become committed to helping women and girls achieve their ambitions, challenge conscious and unconscious bias, as well as call for gender-balanced leadership and value women and men’s contributions equally.
Also, this day was designed in part to create inclusive flexible cultures. From awareness-raising to concrete action, organizations rallied their people to pledge support to help forge gender parity on International Women’s Day and beyond, according to a spokesperson for IWD.
“What makes this so profound is that it represents women, whom I am called to serve,” Randall said of her latest achievement. “To receive the recognition for (International Women’s Day) Woman of the Year because of my God assignment is genuinely humbling. My prayer every day is for God to use me to impact lives to change the outcomes. I am a liaison for the kingdom, and I desire to make a difference in the lives of everyone I come in contact with.”
Despite the rash of challenges and obstacles she endured in 2020, Randall, nevertheless, was destined to make the most of that year, all the while seeking and consulting God for a divine sense of direction in the process.
Just recently, Joan witnessed the release of The Image In The Mirror: The Reflection That Inspired The Courage To Live Limitlessly, a highly-anticipated anthology that is accompanied by 20-authors.
During a two-hour virtual session that aired on various message boards and social media platforms, Randall, along with a gallery of Christian-based co-authors, collectively commemorated the debut of a book that had already generated an international buzz.

Having been christened an award-winning author in her own right, Randall’s The Image In The Mirror: The Reflection That Inspired The Courage To Live Limitlessly comes approximately two years after she initially captured the awe-inspiring vision to spearhead the project.
Then earlier this week, Randall — a native of Jamaica who relocated to the United States a little more than three decades ago and has since garnered dual citizenship — earned certification after having completed what is known as Preach Better In 60 Days, an achievement that’s powered by The Incubator.
An ordained elder and the President and CEO of Joan T. Randall Ministries, Randall is the mastermind of Joan T Randall Enterprise LLC, her Charlotte-based venture that is comprised of Randall functioning fervently in her divine purpose as an award-winning author, transformational speaker, coach, and publisher.
Said Randall of what undoubtedly has been a year of a spiritually-empowering turnaround, of sorts:
“In 2020, I prayed and asked God to help me positively impact the lives of one hundred women. By the end of 2020, that number was 160 women. Some of whom I helped become published authors, others started nonprofits, some started businesses, some are mentees, some got baptized and even married. I am honored I get to walk in my calling.”
Never mind she endured — thus, most of all, conquered — a year during which her faith had suddenly become tried and tested unlike never before.
