“(The mission of my organization is centered on) recognizing that loving oneself on a different level is unfamiliar and scary, yet at times, very necessary,” Ratliff, 52, told Making Headline News this week. “Through Woman Under Construction, women who are intentionally getting better and growing greater, one a season at a time.”

For Ratliff, her quest for establishing Because I Am A Woman Under Construction LLC comes amid humble beginnings, as well as behind the influential impact of her mentor and friend, Fleeta Bulle who is responsible for having an oratorical piece after which Cross felt compelled to name her organization.

DESTINED FOR PURPOSE — “It was the healing journey from the emotional scars I endured from child through adulthood as a woman that propelled my desire to empower other hurting women towards the same freedom. Through this pathway of self-discovery, my gifts for public speaking, and writing emerged from beneath the mask I wore to cover my internal pain.,” Ratliff said.

“Mrs. Bulle inspired me to continue public speaking by sharing the liberating and powerful message that there is life after bad decisions and terrible mistakes,” Ratliff said.

Through her longstanding organization, Ratliff has been afforded the golden opportunity to fortify her immeasurable gifts on various platforms, most notably speaking publicly across the country, monthly wellness groups, wellness coaching, and wellness mentorship programs.

Much to her delight, Ratliff’s solid body of work has given way to future startup of “Woman Under Construction: Living Room Conversations With Cassaundra Marie,” her show that debuts June 5, she announced this week.

Generally, Because I Am A Woman Under Construction LLC services women and groups ranging in ages 18-and-up, Ratliff said, although she acknowledged that plans are in the works to develop a special interest for high school students sometime in the foreseeable future.

“What I like most about Woman Under Construction is witnessing other women  free themselves from the shame and guilt of their own scars,” Ratliff said. “(We’re committed to) providing a safe place to discover their authentic self. A no judgment zone. (We’re committed to) internalizing that they are women with purpose, and it was the pain of those scars that pushed them into that purpose.”
