DALLAS — Fortunately for Cynthia Marshall Harrison, amongst the notable reasons she has been blessed mightily to reap sustained entrepreneurial success is due in large part to her perseverance of running the daily operations of her venture from God’s perspective.
“Well, when we esteem and inspire others, it brings out the best in them, and what we give out, we get back in return,” Harrison told Making Headline News this week. “I like to send out love, even to the homeless person out there. A lot of times, they are looked down on, but I look at them and send love their way and ask God to bless them and, if I’m led to, I will bless them. The Bible tells us a kind word turns away wrath. Give and it shall come back to us, and God wants us to do it as well.”

More than anything, though, Harrison doesn’t shy away from the notion that in the wake of what was a dreaded, challenging season during which she was in dire need of a God-manifested breakthrough, she clung to the very thing that undoubtedly has thrust her to a season in which she presently reaping a harvest: her faith.
“As for my cosmology (tenure), I was a young mother and kept hitting dead ends and wanted more for me and my daughter,” Harrison, 58, product of American Beauty Academy, told MHN. “So, I had to secure my future with a career that would sustain us, and it has for 20 years.”
Along with overseeing the day-to-day operations of a successful online boutique, Harrison owns a Houston-area salon suite, which has contributed fervently to her entrepreneurial progression.
“(It’s a) private suite,” Harrison said. “The salon industry (constantly) changes, so I had to change with it. As for my online stores, again, I’m just wanting to better my future and to keep striving for better. I decided to open my stores.”
Much to her delight, Harrison is steadily savoring the fruits of her labor as a thriving, progressive businesswoman, one whose best and brightest days are ahead of her.
“My personal mission (as an entrepreneur is) to provide services people need,” said Harrison, “and to help my family financially, and to be able to be a blessing to myself and others. What I like most about being in business is the flexibility and the control of how successful you are when you put in the work and get the rewards.

Having acquired more than two-and-a-half decades of professional experience in what is an ever-evolving cosmetology industry, Harrison is three years removed from having established Cynthia’s Closet, a rising venture that figures to emerge as a global game changer, of sorts, particularly as Black Friday and Cyber Monday loom in the coming months.

Harrison’s current itinerary includes public appearances at two area vendor fairs September 17 between the 9 and 11 a.m. CST, she announced.

“(I’m thankful to) my husband and my family and (my desire to) just listening to inspiration and motivational teachings,” Harrison said. “And I cannot forget my church that teaches me faith.”
