Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. Teach me your way, Lord; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. (Psalm 27: 10-11 NIV)
PURPOSE PUSHER
Dr. Lauren N. Huff is only being transparent.
Amongst the reasons is that she’s convinced her great deal of conspicuousness, by all accounts, will help strategically empower and impact lives.
One life at a time.
“I was fatherless,” Dr. Huff told Making Headline News during a weekend interview. “I grew up in a father absent home. Life was challenging for me. I had to overcome a lot barriers growing up in a single mom household.”

It is due in large part to slew of struggles through which Dr. Huff endured — particularly during the pivotal adolescent stage of her life — that she had become greatly inspired to establish Daughters Need A Father Inc., her rising Tampa, Florida-based nonprofit organization.
Officially established in 2011 in Georgia, Dr. Huff’s Daughters Need A Father Inc. is suitably known as DNAF and is widely regarded as an advocacy organization, one that is committed to customarily bringing awareness to the issues concerning fatherless girls.
“Poverty, teenage pregnancy, depression, suicide, crime, drug and alcohol abuse, and mental illness all correlate more strongly with being fatherless than with any other single factor even surpassing race,” said a spokesperson for Dr. Huff’s Daughters Need A Father Inc. in detailed synopsis of this progressive organization via its Facebook business page.

A native of Atlanta, Dr. Huff’s rise to starting what has become a thriving, flourishing nonprofit organizations comes amid humble beginnings, something by which she doesn’t take for granted.
“We advocate for girls living in father-absent households,” Dr. Huff told MHN. “My personal mission for doing the work is helping young girls from father-absent households reach her full potential. I inspired myself to do this. When you align yourself with God’s word, your life will change.”
For her valiant commitment to helping enrich and enhance the lives of what she appropriately describes as “father-absent households,” Dr. Huff steadily continues to garner widespread national respect as the mastermind behind DNAF.
DAUGHTERS MATTER
Interestingly enough, DNAF has become a fixture for conducting life-altering empowerment workshops, particularly for single mothers who are devising effective ways to raise daughters who are enduring the struggles and hardships that typically arise in homes where fathers are absent.
Generally, DNAF customarily services teenage girls or, as Dr. Huff emphasized, “young girls who are in middle school.”
GOD-ORDERED STEPS
An accomplished author and well-respected speaker in her own right, Dr. Huff is a graduate of Lithonia (Georgia) High School.
Having acquired an undergraduate degree from Clayton State University, Dr. Huff subsequently earned a Master of Public Administration from Troy University and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University.
A beloved and well-respected community leader, Dr. Huff serves on the executive board of her area local Black Caucus. In addition, she is a devoted member of her local NAACP chapter.
As for the sustained success she’s enjoyed since the DNAF’s inception, Dr. Huff said: “It’s my passion to make a difference in my community and the generations that will come after me.”
All the while helping empower and impact lives.
