GOIN’ A BIT HIGHER
As far as his immeasurable musical gifts goes, Darryl Williams is going higher.
Literally and figuratively.
The rising New York City-based singer, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, announced he was the beneficiary of a Grammy Award for creating the background vocals for Michael Bublé’s latest album entitled, Higher.
Bublé’s ninth album to date, Higher officially debuted March 25. The album was his first studio project since Love, which debuted in November 2018.
CRUISIN’ ALONG
Suitably known as the Grammys, these awards presented by the Recording Academy of the United States to recognize outstanding achievements in the music industry.
Widely regarded by many as the most prestigious and significant awards in the music industry worldwide, the Grammys were originally called the Gramophone Awards, as the trophy depicts a gilded gramophone. The Grammys are the first of the Big Three networks’ major music awards held annually and are considered one of the four major annual American entertainment awards with the Academy Awards (for films), the Emmy Awards (for television), and the Tony Awards (for theater).
Interestingly enough, the first Grammy Awards ceremony was held on May 4, 1959 to honor the musical accomplishments of performers for the year 1958.

Said Williams of his latest milestone in his chosen profession:
“When I was approached to join Michael Bublé in the studio, I was about to join the Independence (of the Seas for the relaunch of cruise ships) and went right in for a seven-month residency,” Williams told MHN. “My music partner and I, (Grammy winner and Associate MD for MJ, the Musical and The World-famous Apollo), Michael Mitchell, have created vocals for some of the biggest artists in music including Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. So Michael and I were so hyped about what we could do for Mr. Bublé’s Grammy-winning project.”
Currently completing his second residency aboard Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas, Williams, to his credit, has done more than 500 voyages, mostly for Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Cunard, Celebrity, and Holland America, among others.
In addition, he has performed with eight symphonies around the country.
That’s not all for this newly-Christened Grammy award-winner.
“I will be finishing this present residency and then a 10-day cruise on The Norwegian Joy after which I will be headlining with The Modesto Symphony and The Detroit Symphony,” Williams told MHN. “Presently, I’m booked through 2024 on several cruises for Royal Caribbean.”
Clearly, this is a good problem to have for the rising globally-acclaimed singer, whose improbable dreams are steadily becoming a reality.
