WOMAN OF DESTINY

During an exclusive interview with Making Headline News, Washington, DC businesswoman Dr. Christina Blake spoke at length about the rash of developments surrounding Direction Determines Destiny, Inc., a credible nonprofit organization that customarily focuses on empowering individuals, particularly those impacted by trauma, incarceration, and life challenges.
Generally, through Dr. Blake’s notable programs such as STAND — Survivors Triumph, Awareness, New Goals, Dreams — sober housing initiatives, and transformational support systems, Direction Determines Destiny has become a fixture for helping people rebuild their lives with purpose, structure, and direction.
Armed with more than two decades of experience in her notable line of work, Dr. Blake emphasized, among other things, her competitive drive through entrepreneurship didn’t merely emerge by competing with others.
“It came from competing with who I used to be,” Dr. Blake said as part of Making Headline News’ advance national coverage ahead of Sarah Jakes Roberts’ Fourth Annual Woman Evolve Conference July 30 through August 1 from Atlanta. “I refused to stay stuck in cycles that were meant to break me. That internal push — to rise, to heal, and to become — propelled me to build something that would help others do the same.
SALUTING WOMEN WHO SHAPE OUR WORLD

“What I love most is transformation. Watching someone shift their mindset, reclaiming their identity, and begin to walk in purpose — that’s the reward. I get to witness people becoming who they were always meant to be.”
A native of Washington, DC, Dr. Blake holds a Doctoral Degree in Leadership In Business along with a Degree in Psychology.
“My education gave me the foundation, but my life experiences gave me the assignment,” Dr. Blake said. “I’ve learned how to merge both to serve people from a place that is not just informed but transformed.”
Suitably known as an accomplished author, entrepreneur, and speaker, Dr. Blake business customarily services individuals ranging from young adults to individuals in their 50’s and beyond.
“Healing doesn’t have an age limit, and neither does purpose,” Dr. Blake said. “My mission is to break cycles, restore identity, and help people move forward with intention. I am committed to showing people that where they’ve been does not determine where they’re going.”

Interestingly enough, Dr. Blake’s awe-inspiring entrepreneurial journey has allowed her to put her immeasurable gifts on display in places in other U.S. markets, most notably Atlanta and Martha’s Vineyard, “with continued expansion ahead,” she acknowledged.
“From working directly with the Department of Corrections to stepping onto stages and into communities, this work continues to grow beyond what I imagined,” Dr. Blake said. “I’ve been doing this work for over 20 years. What you see today is built on years of consistency, growth, and commitment to purpose.”
Looking ahead, Dr. Blake’s itinerary includes serving as a featured speaker in Atlanta at the General Bosses and Bossettes Community Expo. The theme: Team Up, Tag and Get A Bag.
Also, she’s scheduled to conduct another speaking engagement in Martha’s Vineyard this July.
“In addition, I continue to engage audiences through my platform,” said Dr. Blake, referring to her empowerment show, Courageous Conversations with Dr. Christina On YouTube. “People need to be reminded that they matter. Every day, someone is questioning their worth, their direction, or their ability to keep going. When you take the time to esteem and inspire others, you help shift their mindset and give them the strength to continue. That matters more than we realize.”
