In paying homage to Memphis author Kim Broadway’s victory amid arguably the darkest season of her life, Making Headline News deemed it necessary to name this story our Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Special Report
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 NKJV)
PURPOSED FOR P.I.N.K
DALLAS — As the seasoned Saints often say, “God can’t be explained. He can only be revealed.”
For Kim Broadway, she can greatly attest to this thought-provoking, life-altering notion.
Consider, for instance, what miraculously unfolded during which Broadway was undergoing chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer.
As Broadway recalls, even while enduring arguably the most challenging — and sometimes, stormy — season of her life, God still had some things for her to do.
And if God said it, that settles it.

“God gave me this book while in the process of my chemo treatments,” Broadway, during a recent interview with Making Headline News, said, recalling the memorable developments that had ultimately given way to the Memphis-based writer making her authorship debut. “When I realized I had to make a conscious decision between chemo and my life, I knew a book would arise from it. I made the decision to heal holistically with the help of a holistic coach and the vision for me became clear.”
Indeed, it did for Broadway, the proud architect of Embracing Life More Abundantly After Cancer: Living In My P.I.N.K, her highly-anticipated book that made its ceremonious debut in October 2022.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer.

“When I realized the traumatic turn of events, I was experiencing through one process after another, I knew I needed to share my story with the world,” said Broadway, explaining the purpose for her first book. “I knew my story would help those who are in this journey.”
A book that is accompanied by 61 pages, Broadway’s Embracing Life More Abundantly After Cancer: Living In My P.I.N.K was composed in large part to encourage those who may be on the journey to recovery after cancer or may have been through the journey of healing from cancer, according to an in-depth synopsis for this author’s book at Amazon.com.
“This book will give hope in knowing there is life after a cancer diagnosis,” said an Amazon spokesperson for Broadway’s Embracing Life More Abundantly After Cancer: Living In My P.I.N.K. “The message you would gain is if you enjoyed life before cancer, don’t stop enjoying life after cancer. You will learn to live life more abundantly after cancer.”
Broadway’s first book she originally produced in 2019 but republished this year, the Marianna, Arkansas native has been cancer free for eight years and counting. Her new book, she said, has twice been republished with “added additions” being installed in the current edition.
“Life is beautiful, but also fragile because we only get one to live,” said Broadway, explaining the divine purpose that aligns with her heaven-mandated assignment as a first-time published author. “Life’s twists and turns can be so devastating. We can be here today and gone tomorrow in just a blink of an eye. I asked my audience and every woman to take good care of themselves. Self-care is extremely important to me and so is wellness. After going through this experience, I am more aware of what I put in my body, how I treat people, and not sweating the small stuff.”
Talk about adopting a newfound disposition on life with God, her Helper, steering the way.
“I have been told that my experience was an experience of hope,” Broadway — who has attracted a wave of media coverage — said of the array of favorable feedback she’s garnered since the release of Embracing Life More Abundantly After Cancer: Living In My P.I.N.K. “I’ve sent a message that living in my P.I.N.K is my purpose, inward peace, naked truth and knowledge and, I at one time, did not like the color pink, but now I can appreciate it and I’ve learned to live in it with a grateful heart.

GRACE TO OVERCOME
“This book has given me the tools to educate others on how to be proactive in their health,” continued Broadway, who has assembled a journal entitled, Poised & Pink, which is available via Amazon, as are matching merchandise in her Teespring store. “I’ve learned that purpose is birthed out of pain. I would have never chosen this road to travel, but God knew before I was born, I would be here in my life.
“I want people to know cancer is not a death sentence anymore. Statistics says 45 percent of cancers are preventable. I plan to be a blessing to others by sharing my testimony to as many people who would listen. I plan to continue to educate others and help with preventive measures and steps to for self-care and be a source of encouragement.
“Yes, going through Cancer in 2014 was an eye opener for me,” Broadway continued. “My life has not been the same since. I’ve learned to embrace life more abundantly after cancer. It wasn’t easy but, after the dust has settled, I can say now it was for my good and it was worth it. My outlook on life is much different now. I don’t take things for granted and I’m so so grateful I was one of the ones that God decided to heal. I embrace life to the fullest. My motto is, ‘If you loved your life before cancer, please don’t stop loving your life after cancer.'”
She certainly hasn’t, as evidenced by her tear-jerking, life-altering feel-good story for the ages.
