GRIEF THROUGH HIS EYES VOLUME 2 NATIONAL MEDIA COVERAGE: Virginia minister Shawntee Warren on his second book project: ‘You have survived every difficult situation you’ve faced and are still here’

Andre Johnson June 19, 2023

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard that went down to the skirts of his garments. As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. (Psalm 133:1-3 KJV)

MIGHTY MAN OF VALOR

ADVANCING THE KINGDOM — As part of Making Headline News’ 2023 Essence Music Festival advance coverage leading to the “the party with a purpose” event June 29-July 3 in New Orleans, Virginia author Reverend Shawnee Warren spoke at length about how he senses men rarely get the opportunity to share their stories, particularly on a credible platform that could greatly help enhance their lives in the process. Warren is one of 15 co-authors who has graced the pages of Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point Of View Volume 2.

Just before midday EST on Sunday, Reverend Shawntee Warren took to his social media timeline, where he displayed a spirited Father’s Day post to the brethren.

Said Warren before his gallery of followers via Facebook:

“Happy Father’s Day.

Fellas, this is our day.

Continue to lead and inspire.”

BACK-TO-BACK HONORABLE MENTIONS — A spiritually-empowering anthology that had been in the works for nearly a year, Warren and his fellow co-authors have been christened Amazon bestselling writers for a second consecutive year, something by which he doesn’t merely take lightly.

For Warren, such an empowering post emerged hours after he spent the better part of weekend inspiring the masses to become better versions of themselves, particularly during the ceremonious book release of Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point of View Volume 2, the highly-anticipated anthology that is spearheaded by Virginia Beach, Virginia-based Visionary Author Deborah Juniper-Frye.

The sophomore version of Juniper-Frye’s collaborative written work comes approximately one year after she witnessed the debut of Grief Through His Eyes: Seeing Grief From His Point Of View.

Just like last year, this anthology is accompanied by a variety of life-altering stories of Juniper-Frye’s male counterparts — 15 in all, to put it more precisely.

GOD-ORDERED STEPS — “There is more that I plan to share with the world,” Warren told MHN. “I feel like this is just the beginning. I do plan to write an autobiography. I want to write more self-help books geared toward men walking into their purpose and place in the kingdom. I am currently in the process of writing those and getting those out as well. Writing has become therapy and allowed me to tap in a new area of ministry.”

For Warren, meanwhile, his rise to producing his second authorship project comes amid humble beginnings.

As part of Making Headline News’ 2023 Essence Music Festival advance coverage leading to the “the party with a purpose” event June 29-July 3 in New Orleans, Warren spoke at length about how he senses men rarely get the opportunity to share their stories, particularly on a credible platform that could greatly help enhance their lives in the process.

“As men, vulnerability in our society is a sign of weakness,” Warren, face of Chesapeake, Virginia’s Kingdom Life Ministries, told MHN. “We are taught at a young age to mask our emotions and never demonstrate pain or hurt. From a male’s adolescence to manhood, sharing one’s emotion is frowned upon and often discouraged. I felt this opportunity would give men a voice to show the world that we hurt, we cry and we ultimately experience loss. Sharing something so taboo would go against the grain but it is time to be heard.

“For the world to understand men are not oblivious to loss yet we go through things somewhat differently, but we experience many of the same feelings,” Warren continued. “This book allowed every co-author to take the courageous step to illustrate that men experience grief and loss. However, it in that pain that you begin to understand what you are made of.”

A spiritually-empowering anthology that had been in the works for nearly a year, Warren and his fellow co-authors have been christened Amazon bestselling writers for a second consecutive year, something by which he doesn’t merely take lightly.

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE — Now that his sophomore book adventure has come to fruition, Warren said other books are on the horizon.

“I was asked to be a part of Volume 2 by the visionary of the project, Deborah Juniper Frye, again,” said Warren, explaining his vision surrounding his quest of becoming a two-time published author. “She first extended the opportunity to the co-authors and then opened it up to others. I felt like I had more to share.

“Volume 1 stretched and allowed me to go back to a place where (in which) I hid for so long. Volume 1 opened a womb that I thought God had healed. It was at that moment of being approached by the visionary that God told me there was more that I wanted you to share with the world. God had given me a lane to minister outside of the church to those who have experienced grief and loss.”

A devoted preacher of the gospel, Warren emphasized the divine message through his latest book project is centered in large part on encouraging the masses to understand that family and generational trauma are real.

“Family trauma affects an entire family unit and is often discussed in conjunction with generational trauma or trauma that is passed through generations,” said Warren, alluding to the familiar Biblical passage that is John 8:36. “Most unresolved childhood trauma affects self-esteem and creates anxiety.  Whether the cause of the trauma is a one-time thing or a series of occurrences, trauma is often difficult to understand and defend against at the time.”

Interestingly enough, Warren acknowledged that post-traumatic stress disorder, by all accounts, can be inherited from family.

“Not everyone with PTSD has been through a dangerous event,” Warren explained. “The effects of trauma can cause one to feel neglected and often misunderstood. I want to encourage you and let you know that you are enough. God created you in His own image. Don’t let the disillusion of family bring you back in a state of trauma. God is here to free you. Free you from hurt. Free you from all the pain of your past. Most importantly, He is here too free you from the pain of lies and words not to mention negative perceptions from your family.

WE’RE GONNA MAKE IT

WITH JESUS ON OUR SIDE, THINGS WILL WORK OUT FINE — A devoted preacher of the gospel, Warren emphasized the divine message through his latest book project is centered in large part on encouraging the masses to understand that family and generational trauma are real.

“Don’t allow anyone to hold you captive to your past or make you feel that you are not worthy to be loved or accepted. God loves you,” Warren added. “Don’t allow their ignorance to define you. Don’t allow the sins of our parents and grandparents to determine your destiny. You have a hope and a future. You are enough. You don’t have to change to conform to someone’s ideal of a particular perception. God made you in His image. You are enough. Don’t let anyone diminish your light by their own insecurities. You are an overcomer. You have survived every difficult situation you’ve faced and are still here.”

Now that his sophomore book adventure has come to fruition, Warren said other books are on the horizon.

AND IT CAME TO PASS

ROUND TWO IN THE BOOKS — For Warren his rise to producing his second authorship project comes amid humble beginnings.

“There is more that I plan to share with the world,” Warren told MHN.

All the while he continues to lead and inspire, as evidenced by his spirited midday Father’s Day post on Sunday.
