Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you. He will never leave you, nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV)
MORE THAN A CONQUEROR
Come hell or high water, Angela Brennan is fully persuaded of this intriguing notion:
“God has the final say,” Brennan, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, referring to the memorable developments surrounding her authorship debut. “Even though people may turn their backs on you and give up on you, no one has the authority to make that final decision about your life except for the Almighty God.”
Talk a remarkably empowering, fascination declaration uttered by Brennan, whose authorship debut has come to fruition by way of Down For The Count: Bouncing Back From Life’s Blows: Volume VI, the highly-anticipated anthology that is spearheaded by accomplished North Carolina Visionary Author Felicia C. Lucas.

As part of Making Headline News’ 2023 Essence Music Festival advance coverage leading to the “the party with a purpose” event June 29-July 3 in New Orleans, Brennan spoke about the joy of witnessing her dream as a published author come full circle, courtesy of an awe-inspiring collaborative written work that has created a fervent buzz across various message boards and social media platforms.
A book that is accompanied of 76 pages in length, Down For The Count: Bouncing Back From Life’s Blows: Volume VI is comprised of seven co-authors, each of whom vividly shares life-altering stories centered on how they managed to survive adverse life situations. In essence, each co-author shares their bounce back story, according to a detailed synopsis of this anthology via Barnes & Noble’s information page.

For Brennan, her rise to making her authorship debut comes amid humble beginnings, something by which she doesn’t take lightly.
“I chose to be a part of this book because of my own story of bouncing back from life’s blows,” Brennan, who resides in Raleigh, North Carlina, told MHN. “I was a sickly child, and I was able to survive a near-death experience as a toddler with lots of prayers from my parents and our church home and with the unfailing loyalty of God’s grace. When the doctors had given up on me, God chose to keep me. God’s grace kept me for such a time as this.”
Indeed, it has for Brennan, who committed to joining Luca’ collab project last December and needed somewhere in the neighborhood of five months to witness her authorship debut become a much-anticipated reality.
VICTORY SHALL BE MINE
“My purpose is to go beyond what is comfortable and reach those who are wounded,” said Brennan, explaining how her first book project aligns with the divine purpose for which God has created her. “I am to let people know that God has the final say. Whatever you have been through and no matter what you have come through, don’t give up on yourself and don’t give up on God.”
A well-respected transformational speaker whose notable profession includes serving as an accomplished accountant, licensed practical nurse, and chaplain, Brennan said other books are forthcoming — much sooner rather than later.
“Yes, I plan to (write more books) at some point,” Brennan, a native of St. Louis, told MHN. (I’d like to) write a biography of the struggles that I have come through from childhood to adulthood.”
GOD-ORDERED STEPS
Much to her delight, Brennan doesn’t shy away from the notion that God undoubtedly has set her aside for His use, especially for a season such a now — one that includes this devout woman gracing the pages of published book for the very first time.
“By God’s grace, I have survived many traumatic events in my life,” Brennan said. “Things that should have taken me out, yet I am still here to help those who may be in need of help.”
Because after, God has the final say.
