Just after 7 o’clock Wednesday morning, Tyneisha Collins took to her Facebook, where she suddenly encountered a Come To Jesus moment, of sorts, surrounding her recently-released book.
Said Collins before her 4,700-plus social media followers: When I decided to write I AM QUEEN, I was writing it to be a source of help for others… I never imagined that it would be a source of help for me as well! I AM QUEEN Is My Therapy because it is a constant reminder that Circumstances Build Character And Produce Amazing People! You would just have to purchase it to fully understand.
Fortunately for Collins, not only does her massive reading audience seeming share her sentiments but, to her credit, it appears they are expressing to her their gratitude in ways about which she never envisioned.
A native of the Bronx, New York who currently resides in Osceola, Arkansas, Collins is one of three Mid-South-area authors who have been named nominees for Author Of The Year in the upcoming inaugural TAP Awards that will take place November 11 at Arkansas State University.
An event that was organized by Jonesboro-area public speaker and award-winning author Terrell Jenkins, the TAP Awards will acknowledge individuals in a variety of categories for their hard work and valiant contributions to the community.
According to a spokesperson for the event, Collins was amongst 700 nominees selected for Author Of The Year, in large part because her family, friends, and peers sensed she is worthy of such a notable honor.
Voting begins August 12 and runs through September 4.

For Collins, a longtime educator in the Osceola area who is the mastermind by the book, I AM QUEEN, news of her emerging as a nominee for a TAP Award came as an awe-inspiring surprise.

“This contest is a testament of my hard work because it is confirmation that I AM QUEEN has impacted so many different people,” Collins told Making Headline News this week.
A compelling, informative 194-page written document that was officially released in March of this year, Collins’ “I AM QUEEN” is a provocative, attention-grabbing story that depicts this writer’s array of life’s struggles, most notably those in which she recalled having been constantly shunned and abandoned by her mother as a little girl without any knowledge of the identity of her father.
Moreover, Collins’ “I AM QUEEN’’ is an emotional story, of sorts, that involves a young girl whose mother’s seemingly unyielding rejection was once too much to bear, according to a spokesperson for Collin’s book at Amazon.com.
A book that has acquired much hoopla and media exposure in recent months, Collins credits her craft and professionalism which, according to her, are what has allowed her immense gifts to stand out above others in this ever-so-competitive authorship industry.
“My craft and professionalism stand out because of my goal to inspire, encourage, and uplift, and strengthen my readers,” Collins said. “My extreme transparency and rawness I used in my book are what draws my readers in. In order to help others you have to reveal your mistakes, insecurities, and weaknesses, which in return allows your readers to relate to you and feel as if they are not alone in this thing called life.”
And if Collins comes away with the TAP Award for Author Of the Year…
“It would be such an honor and I would dedicate it to each and every Queen out there that has a dream,” she said.
While displaying her customary signature smile that long before the birthing of her new book, seemed virtually nonexistent.
Look at her today, savoring the fruits of her labor.
