“Every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities. And to the children of our country, regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message: dream with ambition, lead with conviction, and see yourself in a way that others might not see you, simply because they’ve never seen it before. And we will applaud you every step of the way.” — Kamala Harris, Then-Vice-President Elect of the United States of America
NATIONAL CHAMPION
Three days before arguably one of her grandest milestones, Cheryl Monroe took to social media, where she issued a massive vote of thanks to her valiant supporters.
Said Monroe to her gallery of followers via Facebook:
I would like to thank everyone who has ever played a role in my life, big or small. When I tell you I am blessed, believe me. Words cannot express the gratitude to those who are always in my corner. My village is lit and I love you all (too many to name)!
Much to her delight, those who have played an integral role in Monroe’s awe-inspiring journey witnessed the Atlanta-area philanthropist acquire one of her biggest honors to date.

Monroe in June was named a recipient for The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award during a ceremony at the Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia.
Generally, The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award is widely considered one of the highest honors presented to individuals who have overcome significant obstacles to achieve impressive accomplishments, thus dedicated their lives to advocating for the most vulnerable among humanity and acted with bravery to drive change in their communities — and across the world — while blazing trails for generations to come.
An honor she received in large part because of her community service contributions, Monroe emphasized, among other things, she doesn’t take lightly the notion that her latest milestone has ceremonious thrust her in some elite company.
“I was honored to have been chosen to receive The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for volunteering (in the community),” Monroe told Making Headline News during a recent interview. “It’s been a rewarding journey dedicating my time and effort to various causes and this recognition encourages me to continue making a positive impact in our community. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to meaningful change and inspire others to get involved as well.”
More than anything, though, Monroe said amongst her strategic ambitions moving forward is centered largely on steadfastly having an influential impact in her community for years to come.
“Receiving The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for volunteering has had a profound impact on my life,” Monroe told MHN. “It’s not just a recognition of my efforts. It’s a validation of the causes I’ve dedicated my time to and the positive change I’ve worked towards. This award has given me a renewed sense of purpose and a deepened commitment to continue making a difference in the lives of others.
“One of the ways I plan to leverage this award is by using it as a platform to inspire and motivate others to get involved in volunteering and community service,” Monroe continued. “I believe that each person has the power to create change, and I want to share my journey to show that anyone can make a significant impact through their contributions, no matter how big or small.”
A beloved military veteran, Monroe assumes a variety of notable roles, most notably as co-founder and chief financial officer of Blazing Beauties, a credible nonprofit organization whose mission is centered largely on educating and empowering young ladies and women by promoting individual and collective mental, spiritual, and physical wellness through community service projects, educational grants, and seminars.
STANDING OVATION
In addition, Monroe is a board member for Wall Street Juniors, a nonprofit organization that customarily focuses on increasing social responsibility, developing sustainable communities, teaching financial literacy, and creating generational wealth.
As a volunteer member of the National Small Business Association Leadership Council, she serves on the Economic Development Committee, working alongside other small businesses to tackle critical issues and promote the interest of small businesses to policymakers in Washington, D.C.
Interestingly enough, Monroe is a member of various organizations whose primary objective is to promote social inclusion and build power among disenfranchised communities.
FULFILLING HER DESTINY
“I also intend to collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups to initiate awareness campaigns, workshops, and mentoring programs,” said Monroe, outlining other strategic plans amid becoming a recipient for one of the nation’s highest honors. “By sharing my experiences and insights, I hope to provide guidance to those who are just starting their volunteering journey, helping them navigate challenges and maximize their impact.
“Furthermore,” Monroe continued, “I aim to use the attention that comes with this award to amplify the causes that are close to my heart. Whether it’s advocating for sustainable communities, supporting education and youth development, or addressing social inequalities, I want to ensure that these issues remain in the spotlight and continue to receive the attention they deserve.”
