For Cynthia McCalister, her entrepreneurial mindset spans back more than 30 years.
All things considered, she has her parents to thank.
Take, for instance, how back in August 1981, when the Professional Air Traffic Controllers implemented a strike that was ultimately declared illegal and was broken by the Reagan Administration.
By and large, such a well-publicize work stoppage gave way to the entrepreneurial concept for McCalister’s father, the late Thomas Johnson.
“It was the influence of my parents, Thomas and Madlyn Johnson, that gave me the drive to be an entrepreneur,” McCalister, who resides in Cincinnati, told Making Headline News this week. “After the Air Traffic Controllers Strike in the 80’s, my father set out on a path to become a small business owner.”
McCalister’s father eventually made good on his business-related pledge and by starting what had become Regal Carpet Cleaning.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Having witnessed her father evolve mightily as a business owner, coupled with her mother having become a fixture as a drug and alcohol abuse counselor, not to mention a counselor for the AIDS Foundation of Dayton, Ohio and later a minister, McCalister sensed that one day she would absorb and take heed to their influential, immeasurable impact.
According to the business’ overview on its The Key Spot App Facebook page, “Quality SAP” stands for Quality, Service, And Products.

In addition, there will be a Small Business Go Karting Challenge to see which business “comes out on top,” McCalister said.
“I get the most enjoyment working with small business owners by being a champion for them and supporting their growth,” McCalister, an Ohio native, said. “When I say I want to help you reach your goals, I mean it. I work to help spread the word about the hidden gems by leveraging technology of the Key Spot app, creating networking connections, and social media.”
Wait. There’s more pertinent information about which McCalister deemed it essential to share.
“When we are able to connect businesses to each other, such as an event coordinator looking for vendors, or a restaurant owner looking for desert makers, it provides opportunities for both sides to benefit,” McCalister explained. “In addition, being a patron provides the best firsthand account of products and services.”

Interesting enough, not only is The Key Spot app available for businesses, but such a tool is suitable for all users, most notably to be used by customers for finding and posting deals, discounts, events within the community, along with self-managing and sharing educational events, church activities, concerts, garage sales, as well as other local happenings.

“We are continuing to spread across the country,” McCalister said.
All things considered, she has her parents to thank.
“As a family, we helped and supported (my father’s) journey,” McCalister said. “I saw firsthand the hard work he put into growing his business. In my mother, I saw God’s love demonstrated by her work in the community. Though they are no longer with us, their legacy lives on through me.”

A legacy that, because she thought it necessary long ago to heed her parents’ advice and life’s lessons, has greatly given way to Quality SAP now having a global presence.
“I would not have achieved so much if it was not for my faith in God, the support of my family, friends, and business team for believing in me and my dream,” McCalister said. “With the love of my husband and children, it has given me the motivation to continue to strive for the highest heights. I want to make my family proud and be a positive role model, demonstrating anything is possible to achieve with God, a dream, and hard work.”
That’s the key.
