Mid-South-area author Dr. Sharliese Boateng assembles an awe-inspiring, spiritually gut-checking book in memory of her father

Andre Johnson August 1, 2017
DESTINY STEPS — A staff pharmacist for Memphis’ St. Francis Hospital, Dr. Sharliese Boateng is the mastermind behind the emotionally inspiring book, Pregnant With Destiny: From Pain to Purpose. A 176-page, paperback written document that officially made its presence on the market in April 2017, Boateng, during an exclusive interview this week with Making Headline News, spoke at length about how during a flight to Ghana, West Africa in 2009, God strategically infused within her the idea of comparing a pregnant woman’s journey to that of our destiny and purpose, a life-changing, attention-grasping sequence He ultimately dropped in her spirit.

WEST MEMPHIS, Arkansas — Just after midday Tuesday, Dr. Sharliese Boateng wasted little time taking to her Facebook page to pay homage to the man widely known as “Big Ed” — or Edwin Dwayne Tatum to be technical.

Said Dr. Boateng in an awe-inspiring post that gave way to her acquiring a number of likes and favorable comments accompanied by a few intriguing hashtags:

As I head downstairs to autograph more books for Saturday, I can’t help but to recall the conversation my late father, Big Ed, and I had following a family altercation. He told me I would write a book to tell my story and help others! I laughed because that dude was always trying to make money. His heart was pure as gold, but his hands were always GREEN! Well, I listened to him more than 10 years ago when he said it. NOW I SEE! Daddy was RIGHT! Just having a #thinkingofmydaddy moment #restinlovebigguy…LITTLE ROCK, SEE YOU SATURDAY!#pregnantwithdestiny #therespurposeinthepain #push

Though Dr. Boateng’s father is a little more than 10 years removed from his death, that memorable, forthright suggestion he offered his daughter is something about which she didn’t merely take lightly.

Amongst the reasons is that the dialogue between Dr. Boateng and her father essentially served a memorable key ingredient, of sorts, particularly as it pertained to this accomplished medical professional taking a monumental step toward fulfilling the purpose for which God created her.

A staff pharmacist for Memphis’ St. Francis Hospital who resides in nearby West Memphis, Dr. Boateng is the mastermind behind the emotionally inspiring book, Pregnant With Destiny: From Pain To Purpose.

A 176-page, paperback written document that officially made its presence on the market in April 2017, Dr. Boateng, during an exclusive interview this week with Making Headline News, spoke at length about how during a flight to Ghana, West Africa in 2009, God had strategically infused within her the concept of comparing a pregnant woman’s journey to that of our destiny and purpose — a life-changing, attention-grasping sequence He ultimately dropped in her spirit.

“To be obedient to God for starters, but also to simply restore hope into people who have lost sight of their destiny due to distractions, frustrations, past traumatic events, etc.,” said Dr. Boateng, explaining the single, most underlying reason she chose to write her recently-released book.

REMEMBER ‘BIG ED’ — Just after midday Tuesday, Dr. Boateng wasted little time taking to her Facebook page to pay homage to the guy widely known as “Big Ed” — or Edwin Dwayne Tatum to be technical.

A book she needed roughly 6 ½ years to complete, Dr. Boateng’s Pregnant With Destiny: From Pain To Purpose emphasizes, among other things, that your destiny has always been something that God ordained to be tunneled vision but, because of life’s trials and tribulations, it has been seen through panoramic vision, Dr. Boateng explained in a detailed description on her book’s back cover.

In addition, Dr. Boateng eloquently explains how we include things that aren’t merely meant for the journey, yet we capture them in our view, she said.

LEAN NOT UNTO OUR OWN UNDERSTANDING — All things considered, it is through the sometimes dreaded process that gives way to us becoming spiritually impregnated with destiny or, to be more specific, finding the strength and solace that will greatly drive us closer to Almighty God, Dr. Boateng essentially explains.

“My friend, everybody has a story,” Dr. Boateng boldly professes. “A past filled with happiness or painful things that you are not so proud about.”

Then without hesitation, this accomplished motivational speaker poses a rather thought-provoking question in her lofty quest to change and impact a generation through her compelling, provocative new book.

“But what if I told you that it all works out for your good and your life’s purpose?” Dr. Boateng asked. “Yes, God has created each of us with a powerful destiny, but the question that lies ahead is this: Are you willing to go through the process to see it birthed out?”

GOD ENDORSED IT — “To be obedient to God for starters, but also to simply restore hope into people who have lost sight of their destiny due to distractions, frustrations, past traumatic events, etc.,” said Dr. Boateng, explaining the single, most underlying reason she chose to write her recently-released book.

All things considered, it is through the sometimes dreaded process that gives way to us becoming spiritually impregnated with destiny or, to be more specific, finding the strength and solace that will greatly drive us closer to Almighty God, Dr. Boateng essentially explains.

“Another level of anointing, power and greatness is within your reach and the birthing will soon reveal it,” Dr. Boateng said. “All you have to do is rest assure and know that you are pregnant with destiny!”

Interesting enough, Dr. Boateng — a native of Little Rock, Arkansas who will host book signings Saturday and Sunday in her native establishment — acknowledged that her book is actually the “catalyst” and “platform” that will push her further into her destiny, particularly with regards to speaking into and over the lives of those who can’t quite make sense of which trimester they’re in.

Spiritual trimester, that is.

A book in which she needed roughly 6 ½ years to complete, Dr. Boateng’s Pregnant With Destiny: From Pain To Purpose emphasizes, among other things, that your destiny has always been something that God ordained to be tunneled vision, but because of life’s trials and tribulations, it has been seen through panoramic vision, explained a spokesperson for Dr. Boateng’s book at Amazon.com.

“This will be done through many speaking engagements, my own empowerment conferences, etc,” said Dr. Boateng, who’s also scheduled to promote her book during a Women’s Conference at New Hope Church of God In Christ in Wrightsville, Arkansas September 23 at 3 p. m. before returning to Ghana January 1-10 for more book signings. “God has called me to be a beacon of light to many, and I must allow the light to shine in a dark place of others to help push them to greater.

For what it’s worth, Dr. Boateng is confident her reading audience won’t misinterpret her book’s uniquely-designed cover that, to her credit, essentially tells a story in its own right.

DON’T GET IT TWISTED — Interesting enough, Dr. Boateng — a native of Little Rock, Arkansas who will host book signings Saturday and Sunday in her native establishment at Nations of Kings Assembly — acknowledged that her book is actually the “catalyst” and “platform” that will push her further into her destiny, particularly with regards to speaking into and over the lives of those who can’t quite make sense of which trimester they’re in. Spiritual trimester, that is.

“Some may look at the cover, see the word ‘pregnant,’ and automatically assume that this is a book for females only,” Dr. Boateng explained. “Not quite. Every person, be it male or female, has a spiritual womb, and God allows each person to have their own unique process to birth out that dream, vision, and purpose to ultimately fulfill destiny. In the end, it all brings glory back to the Father, because He placed it there from the beginning.”

As for her male counterparts…

“Men, don’t run,” Dr. Boateng said. “Read the book…reflect and embrace where you are, knowing that you too are pregnant with destiny.”

For this thriving, progressively resourceful author, no one knew that more than Big Ed.

Surely, dad knew best all along.
