Rejoice evermore; Pray without ceasing; In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 KJV)
PRAYER WARRIOR
There’s nothing like a praying momma and grandmomma, as we say in the modern-day church.
If anyone can greatly attest to this notion, it’s Elydia P. Ketchens.
“There is power in prayer,” Ketchens, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, explaining the divine message she aspires to send to her audience through her newly-produced book.
A native of New Orleans, Ketchens is the mastermind behind the spiritually-empowering book entitled, “Prayer Closet: A Mother’s Prayers For Our Children,” an April 2020 released written work that figures to have a massive kingdom impact — much sooner than later.

“When we pray for our children, we partner with God to cover them,” Ketchens explained. “God’s protection extends far beyond our reach, and He won’t fail us. There is peace, knowing that God has our children totally covered.”
An awe-inspiring book that was foreword by R. C. Blakes Jr., Ketchens’ “Prayer Closet: A Mother’s Prayers For Our Children” depicts a variety of personal and life-altering developments, one of which this Christian-based writer describes as arguably her greatest challenge and accomplishment in life that’s centered largely on being a mother of her four children.
“I will never forget the days I carried them in my womb, anticipated their births, and prepared for their arrival,” Ketchens shares vividly in a detailed introduction of her book at Amazon.com. “Little did I know, despite my preparations, nothing could prepare me more in the days and years to come than prayer.”
A book Ketchens began composing last spring — “God gave me the vision to write this book in March 2019,” she said — this Louisiana-based accomplished author and devout woman of faith needed a little more than a year to witness her featured masterpiece come full circle.
Surely, it took much faith, coupled with an assortment of prayer sessions for it all to come to fruition.
“I chose to produce this book because of the mandate of God and the influence my maternal grandmother had on my life in covering me in prayer and teaching me how to cover my children,” Ketchens said.
Interestingly, Ketchens completed her featured written work in March 2019 during which she was involved in what is known as a 21-day writing challenge in a Christian accountability writing group, she recalls.
Prior to the much-anticipated release of her latest book, Ketchens was afforded the golden opportunity to participate in relatively intriguing project: an anthology entitled, “Divorced Suddenly Single Mom’s 30-Day Devotional 2: A Collection of Daily Devotions From 10 Divorced Moms of Faith.”
As for her latest project, Ketchens doesn’t shy away from the notion that a book of this magnitude is extremely prevalent for such a pivotal time as now, especially in the wake of what undoubtedly is the most unprecedented crisis — the COVID-19 pandemic — in recent memory.
THE PROVERBS 18:16 AFFECT
“This book is much-needed for such a time as this,” said Ketchens, who’s widely known also as a serial entrepreneur and spiritual transformation coach. “I have an anointing, spiritual calling, and passion for children that is evident in my writing.”
As for other written projects, Ketchens has announced that a Prayer Closet series and a memoir are forthcoming at dates that have yet to be announced.
On April 22, she is scheduled to host what is known as the Pivot To Prayer For Our Children, an event during which she will likely promote her newest book. The event, she said, is free and attendees must register on Event Brite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pivot-tovip-tickets-102855451424.
“I am a catalyst for change,” said Ketchens, who professional career includes having worked a decade-and-a-half in servicing youths and their families in various capacities. “My mission is to ensure those I encounter are forever transformed for the greater. As a parent, prayer is my greatest weapon.”
As Ketchens reiterated, essentially, praying without ceasing is absolutely imperative unlike never before, something by she has reinforced mightily in her latest book.
“I experience breakthroughs and witness manifestations when I use it consistently without fear,” Ketchens said. “This book will guide you as you begin to do the same.”
In Jesus Name.
