And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
GOD’S GOAL DIGGER
Say this about Valerie Brown: In all likelihood, you will catch her striving diligently to live and dwell on the larger side of God.
Credit her competitive nature as arguably the grandest reason why.
“I have always had a competitive nature, even when competing against myself,” Brown, during an interview this week with Making Headline News, said, explaining the awe-inspiring developments that have given way to her having erected her latest business endeavor. Realizing countless people are not maximizing their potential pushed me to push them.”
To her distinctly unique credit, it doesn’t take much, really, for Brown to provide others with the figurative “push” they seldomly need to maximize their potential — both in the natural and the spirit.
Aside from her professional gig as an Instructional Facilitator for Shelby County Schools, Brown is the mastermind behind Val B! #Purpose Pusher, a rising empowerment venture she established in January 2020.
An endeavor that’s accompanied by a trio of hash tags — #FellowDreamChaser #TheeeAbsoluteBest”GOAL” FriendEver #Midwife — Brown’s notable mission through Val B! #Purpose Pusher is centered largely on helping people to birth purpose.
Powered also by the hash tag, #PUSH, this longtime educator is a licensed evangelist who assumes the roles as a life coach and motivational speaker.
For Brown, the granddaughter of retired Memphis Pastor, Bishop Lee Ward, the founder of Greater Harvest Church of God In Christ, delving off into the ever-so-competitive empowerment industry comes amid humble beginnings.
“My life’s journey has had its highs and lows, but there is nothing I would take for my journey,” Brown says without hesitation. “I have realized some people will cheer and support you because it’s you, and then there are some people that will automatically not support because it’s you.”
Much to her delight, coupled with the divine calling on her life, Brown has been afforded the golden opportunity to generate quite a sizable audience, particularly through various message boards and social media platforms, where hundreds of viewers routinely tune in to her live footage, which airs as many as four times a week, starting with Brown’s Monday Night Motivation With Val B.
Also, viewers can tune in to witness Brown’s midweek show, We Win Wednesday, Saturday’s Coffee and Conversation, Midnight Madness, Turbans and Tea, as well as Thursday Thunder with the Siblings of Thunder.
And, just recently, Brown announced the forthcoming launch of another empowerment venture that will debut on September 8, which ironically falls on her 43rd birthday.
Given the immeasurable strides she’s made by way of her featured enterprise, it’s safe to assume that Brown hasn’t shown any signs that she plans to slow down anytime soon.
Heck, why should she when she’s striving diligently to live and dwell on the larger side of God?
“When you are comfortable with the skin you are in and you are assured you are walking in your purpose, you thrive when you see other people win,” Brown said. “I know there is room for many of us to have success stories.”
For Brown, amongst the things about which she’s thoroughly convinced is that her success story is steadily unfolding with God, her Helper, steering the way.
“Pushing and helping others is my life,” Brown explained. “It is literally the air I breathe. When I see people ascend, grow, develop, and evolve, and I know I assisted in that process, no matter how big or small my impact, I am humbled and honored.”

An ordained minister, Brown has been actively involved in ministry for more than two decades.
Besides her church family, Brown credits both sets of grandparents — Bishop Lee and Mother Julia Ward and George and Minnie Scurlock — her parents, Pastor Clifton Brown and Vivian Ward Valentine, her uncles, Greater Harvest Pastor Elder Renardo Ward and Pastor Michael Stevenson, her aunt, Pastor Reniece Ward Stevenson, and her sister, Cheryl Valentine, for having greatly inspired her to move forward with her aspirations of starting Val B! #Purpose Pusher.
FULLNESS OF JOY
“My family and church family have all been pushers in my life, but I made a promise to some family members in December 2019 that I would re-emerge and branch back out once again,” Brown, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, said.
To her credit, she’s gone to great lengths to ensure that such a milestone comes to fruition, all the while living and dwelling on the larger side of God.
Diligently, to put it more precisely.
