If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5 NIV)
SHOW ME SUCCESS
DALLAS — Shayla N. Atkins is a woman of wisdom.
Distinct, unequivocal wisdom, to put it more precisely.
In fact, if you take a tour of Atkins’ business venture website, it doesn’t take long to figure out that she possesses the keen ability to help people become better versions of themselves.
“Hey! Hey! I love helping busy, ambitious, powerhouse women coaches, consultants, 5-9 part-time entrepreneurs,” Atkins says on her introductory page at https://beacons.ai/coachshaylaspeaks.
Indeed, she does.

And, to her credit, Atkins’ entrepreneurial track record is such that she steadfastly continues to be a massive game-changer, particularly for like-minded businesswomen who aspire to flourish in their respective element.
As part of Making Headline News’ 2022 Essence Festival coverage, Atkins introduced Solo 2 CEO Academy, her Houston, Texas-area high impact business coaching venture for women of color and allies, a credible endeavor that affords them the golden opportunity to grow and scale their businesses to elevate from what she describes as Solopreneurs to CEOs.

“The underlying principles of the Academy is strategy, sustainability, and scalability to change the narratives for underrepresented women of color,” Atkins, 37, told MHN. “I help women grow and scale profitable businesses into multi-six figures by focusing on their mindset and habits, business model optimization, streamlined operations, and embracing leadership by building high powered teams.”
As Atkins recalls, she had to diligently press and navigate her way through a rash of personal obstacles which, to her credit, increased her faith and greatly enabled her to aggressively pursue her dreams unlike never before.
CLEARING HURDLES
“My life is not one of traditional paths,” Atkins, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, explains. “I recall being in difficult situations where I did not have access to financial or supportive resources. In college, my funding was depleted, and I had to leave two years in and complete my education online. (I remember when) purchasing my first home, I did not have the down payment. I am committed to helping women defy the odds. I know what it’s like to be the underdog.”
Atkins’ stint as a certified business coach dates back to 2018. In addition, she boasts over 15 years of strategic HR leadership experience and is a certified Lean Six Sigma black belt.
In a nutshell, this Texas Global Diversity and Inclusion Leader could be appropriately described as a businesswoman of many hats, one who undoubtedly has a heart for people from various walks of life.
“I love working with some of the most talented, kind, and brilliant women,” Atkins, a married mother of two, said. “When I see powerhouse women look imposter syndrome in the eye and defeat, (that only cause them) to emerge more powerful than ever (before). When their confidence is restored because they are making more money, they believe in something they have loved, created, and birthed that represents them.”
Interestingly enough, Atkins’ Solo 2 CEO Academy — though it essentially is in its infancy stages — is starting to flourish on a national scale, a trend that serves as a testament to her resourcefulness as a thriving, progressive businesswoman.
“I have graced numerous national and international virtual stages, have traveled to Atlanta, New Orleans, and L. A. to speak,” said Atkins, who also made notable appearances on The Connect — a TV show highlighting entrepreneurs — as well as the CW Network, which airs in millions of households across America. “Both in my career and my business, I am here to level the playing and narrow the wealth equity gap. Whether women are in their career, I am leading the charge globally to create inclusive environments or in the business world, equip and empower women to brand their brilliance, and emerge as authentic, unapologetic CEO’s.”

As for those who have inspired her to move forward with her featured endeavor, Atkins said: “I have an amazing tribe that inspires me daily. I don’t believe we should do this alone, (especially) between my accountability partner and business bestie.”
From July 5-7, Atkins will host what she calls the Propel Your Profit With Precision Bootcamp, a three-day, live assembly for part-time coaches, consultants, and expert service providers.
“Take intentional action, become productive, and profitable alongside your career,” Atkins, a speaker and author, said. “When I review the statistics that women are starting thousands of businesses daily — however, over 70 are classified as solopreneurs and rarely make it past the 18-month mark — I feel I am called to help women not only run side businesses but run companies.
MAKING HER PRESENCE FELT
“I see too many talented women who doubt themselves, and I was one of them,” Atkins continued. “I was the underdog. I felt less-than-adequate because I didn’t finish school the traditional way. I came from extremely humble beginnings on the northside of St. Louis. To help women change the narrative for their family is why I do this and push through.”
Talk about a beloved woman of wisdom.
Distinct, unequivocal wisdom, to put it more precisely.
