If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5 NIV)
IT IS FINISHED
When asked what is the divine message she aspires to send to her audience through her much-anticipated new book, Waticia Floyd McDonald thought it necessary to introduce a familiar, thought-provoking passage.
“Does not long-life bring understanding?” said McDonald, reciting the words of Job 12:12.
For McDonald, her quest to having made her authorship debut comes amid the notable memory of someone she will steadfastly hold dear to her heart for the rest of her life: her beloved father.
McDonald’s When Wisdom Speaks, Knowledge Listens is a newly-produced book that was inspired by her father, the late honorable Bishop E Floyd Jr., the North Carolina Christian-based writer told Making Headline News during a recent interview.

A spiritually-empowering written work that figures to have a lasting impact on the Body of Christ for some time, McDonald grasped the vision sometime in 2011 to compose When Wisdom Speaks, Knowledge Listens, which is comprised of a compelling collection of her father’s most prominent and well-publicized phrases and declarations, not to mention those of her mother, Prophetess A. Floyd.
In essence, McDonald’s When Wisdom Speaks, Knowledge Listens is a 52-week devotional book — released in September 2020 — filled with life-altering aspirations and declarations for your future, this devout woman of faith explains.
McDonald’s book is also available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Apple iBook.
“The ability to change your life is in what you listen to and honor,” McDonald said. “Knowledge is knowing when to listen. Wisdom is the principal thing and, if you embody knowledge, you will listen when it speaks. This powerful devotional is inspired by my hero of a father.”
In recalling his awe-inspiring legacy, McDonald described her father as the epitome of inspiration for his family, friends and all who encountered his presence.
“He was passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and its power to transform lives,” McDonald said of Bishop Floyd. “Having a father’s love is something every little girl should experience, but having an elder who consistently fed wise words to me was even better. Some millennials in this generation have missed out on wise counsel. They may not take the time to understand the grammar, jargon or broken English of our ancestors who had so much wisdom. We don’t hear those quiet whispers of wisdom any longer because grandfathers and grandmothers have quickly faded from the scene.”
This, by all accounts, essentially sums why When Wisdom Speaks, Knowledge Listens is extremely prevalent for such a pivotal time as now, McDonald emphasized.

“(This is my way) to allow millennials the opportunity to experience and embrace the phrases of wisdom of our forefathers,” said McDonald, whose support system for producing her book includes her husband, mother, siblings, and a host of friends and well-wishers. “Most millennials didn’t have the opportunity to grow up with their grandparents to provide wisdom…or grandmothers and grandfathers who taught the same morals: honesty and integrity. This generation needs this to bridge the gap.”
A book McDonald needed somewhere in the neighborhood of seven years to complete, her initial published work has garnered an array of favorable feedback, as expected.
“My editor ironically was going through a tragedy in the process of editing this book,” McDonald recalls. “She had already told me that she could not finish the editorial at this time and that I needed to wait and do it later in the month. The Lord told her to read this book and she felt God speaking to her and was reminded of her grandmother in the precious way she would phrase things to soothe her pain.
“This makes the seventh year that I begin actually writing the book and 2020 is the year of completion for this first volume,” McDonald continued. “My father has been separated from us for seven years and this is the seventh year of my charge to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Just as the Almighty God had envisioned for her life all along.
