PURE TALENT, MANE
DALLAS — At 4:16 in the afternoon on April 19, Memphis-born rapper Nu Boi hastened to his social media page, where he staged a rather forthright declaration, one that essentially came across as a precursor, of sorts, to a short-term, life-altering ambition.
Said Nu Boi to his gallery of followers via Facebook: “LA calling my name. I (hear) ya Cali.”
To grasp a thorough concept of why Nu Boi — who’s suitably known as Mac E Hooper — seems destined to make a trip to the West Coast much sooner than later, look no further than the slew of establishments around the country, during which he’s been afforded the golden opportunity to put on his display his immeasurable gifts as a rising entertainer.
“I’ve done shows in Miami, Mississippi, Atlanta Arkansas, Chicago, Minnesota, Milwaukee, St Louis, South Carolina, and Alabama,” the 29-year-old rapper who resides in Atlanta told Making Headline News this week.
Given the remarkably brilliant strides he’s made since he delved off into the entertainment arena, and it’s no wonder Nu Boi seems poised to make his presence felt on the star-studded West Coast, which has become a global hub for big-name rappers.
Currently a product of Nu Talent Record, Nu Boi doesn’t shy away from the notion that his best and brightest days as a rising artist are well ahead of him. And, as far as he’s concerned, such a feat is surely attainable, given he senses he’s already landed with a credible, progressive record label in its own right.
“Nu Talent Record is my label and I plan to birth some of the greatest artists on my label in the near future also,” Nu Boi says without hesitation.
A graduate of Memphis Manassas High who is currently taking online courses through American Intercontinental University, Nu Boi debuted on the entertainment scene sometime in 2014 and, to his credit, he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down anytime soon.
MAKING A STATEMENT
If nothing else, this up-and-coming artist seemed destined to emerge as a household name — certainly not just some one-hit wonder, mind you.
“I always knew I wanted to be an entertainer, and I had the drive and talent to make my dream reality,” Nu Boi says rather bluntly.
Armed with immeasurable, unparalleled lyrics many liken to late legendary rapper, Tupac Shakur, Nu Boi will witness the ceremonious release of his second EP (extended play) this summer entitled, “602…600 Degrees.”
Nu Boi’s music is available of various social networking platforms — via Instagram @nuboi_official, via Facebook under Mac E Hooper, and Da Nu Boi via Snapchat — and where music is sold, the South Fulton, Georgia entertainer told MHN.
Interestingly enough, fans around the country are starting to become knowledgeable of Nu Boi, thus embracing his music in the process.
For seven years and counting.
“I love hearing the fans recite my lyrics,” Nu Boi said. “And it motivates them to want to do what I do, as well.”
As Nu Boi vividly acknowledges, his awe-inspiring journey as an artist and entertainer is centered in large part on empowering others to not only identify with his musical lyrics but, most of all, to inspire them to become better versions of themselves.

“I plan to change lives in the future with my gift,” Nu Boi said. “I have my own sound (unique voice), so when you hear me, you know it’s me.”
All things considered, Nu Boi is forever grateful of the influential impact a host of prominent artists have had on his fervent rise as an entertainer.
Especially Tupac — better known by his stage name 2Pac and by his alias Makaveli — who is considered by many to be one of the most influential rappers of all time.
“Tupac was my favorite artist ever,” Nu Boi said. “He also helped motivate me to do this going forward. I have an interview with Dirty Glove Bastard (of Off the Porch, a premiere interview platform based in Atlanta).”
Given the remarkably brilliant strides Nu Boi has made since he delved off into the entertainment arena, this forthcoming interview on a major platform is just a massive sign of things to come.
So stay tuned.
Especially Cali.
