Toy Addington has steadfastly gone to great lengths to make Memphis proud.

To her distinctly unique credit, in fact, her entrepreneurial track record is such that she’s destined to garner more of a global presence through her assortment of endeavors.
“I’m self-driven and motivated, and it’s contagious, so I needed to strengthen my knowledge on how to help people set goals and accomplish them,” Addington told Making Headline News this week. I did my research and stumbled upon life coaching.”
Fortunately for Addington, she hasn’t looked back since she was blessed to have strategically connected with the purpose for which she was created.

“(We devise ways) to keep them from being stressed, moving back home with their parents, and being overwhelmed during their transition into adulthood,” Addington said in a detailed introduction of company at https://mrsbudgetbossacademy.com/mrs-budget-boss. By all accounts, this would be done by a rather intriguing formula — “The formula for ’emotional excellence’ is for one to reach their highest form of existence,” she emphasized — Addington describes as “M+M=M,” which means Mind+Mood= (Money, mood, man, mellow, marvelous, mother etc.).

There is, as far as this accomplished Mid-South businesswoman is concerned, a notable reason why she deemed it essential to come up with such a unique formula.

GLOBAL WARMING — To her distinctly unique credit, Addington’s entrepreneurial track record is such that she’s destined to garner more of a global presence through her assortment of endeavors.

“Thoughts trigger emotions, which motivates or demotivates one to be a better (insert the m that you want to feel),” Addington explained.

A successful businesswoman who has garnered an array of local media attention through her assortment of endeavors, Addington’s seminars have included mostly standing-room-only crowds, considering she’s practically sold out every workshop and class this year.

Amongst the reasons is that Addington’s I Can’t Coaching Life Coaching Certification Class, It’s My Money And I Want It Back, Marketing & Branding, B.Y.O.B. “Build Your Own Business Workshop, and Iron Sharpens Iron Mastermind workshops have proven beneficial to countless of individuals — a trend that, in turn, has only enhanced her entrepreneurship repertoire in the process.

Much to her delight, Addington was especially complementary of Tony Robbins and Lisa Nichols for their valiant support of her business-related success, considering she’s made favorable strides as apart of their tribes, she acknowledged.

“Since I was good building businesses, this is how it has become my specialty,” Addington said. “Helping people build businesses, finding ways to save money in their businesses, finding where they were losing money, and even helping save a few businesses from closing its doors. I’ve spent over 3,075 hours of studying coaching and business building. I’ve helped over 105 businesses get started.”

And here’s what’s even more astounding: Addington is believed to be the first African-American woman to open a Life Coaching School in a Tri-State area that’s comprised of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Also, I Can’t Coaching Life Coaching School is the only institution of its kind in the Tr-State area.

Mid-South author Tamera Kelly heeds godly advice, completes first book prior to her mother’s death

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. (1 Peter 5:10 NIV)

MOM KNOWS BEST

DRAMATIC COMEBACK FOR THE AGES — A Mid-South-area author and businesswoman, Tamera Kelly is the mastermind behind the spiritually-empowering book entitled, “Back Against The Wall.”

DALLAS — One afternoon, Tamera Kelly reached for the nearest pen and pad, sat in the middle of the living room floor, and commenced to writing.

And the rest, as they say, was history.
“I knew that I would be an author at an early age due to me writing since elementary,” Kelly told Making Headline News this week. “(As it relates to my book), it’s funny, because I didn’t have a title. I just wrote the story and prayed about the title while I was writing it.”
For Kelly, that she steadfastly stepped out on faith — most notably through the ever-so-competitive world of authorship — has benefited her mightily in recent years.

CHEERING HER OWN — For Kelly, losing her mother essentially served as a devastating blow to a writer whom, because of her mother’s unyielding support, eventually had to come to grips with the notion that her No. 1 cheerleader was still very much coaching and guiding her from the heavens.

An awe-inspiring written work that is comprised of 106 pages in length, Kelly’s “Back Against The Wall” appropriately pinpoints dreaded situations, during which life — as precious, yet fragile it is — is throwing you curve balls, around what this Christian-based writer describes as “the worlds and upper cuts” at the same time.

“Like seriously, it felt like you were on a roller coaster, merry-go-round and zippin’ pippin’…and you just wanted to get off the ride,” said Kelly, referring to a few of the classic rides as Memphis’ now-defunct Libertyland amusement park. “Well…child…welcome to ‘Back Against The Wall.’ ‘Back Against The Wall’ is not your typical fiction novel. It speaks about every day circumstances that we all can relate to in one way or another.”

A book that is nearing its fourth year of existence — Kelly officially made her authorship debut on December 5, 2015 — Kelly needed somewhere in the neighborhood of five years to compose a book that, to her credit, has been as good as advertised.

“I was blessed with this gift,” Kelly said. “Writing is my passion. This is my first novel and it took me awhile to complete it due to during that timeframe I was taking care of my mother, who was battling leukemia that quickly transformed into lymphoma.”

Although Kelly’s mother had ultimately died as a result of complications surrounding her illness, the Memphis-area author had finally put to wraps her novel just before her mom had expired.

All things considered, she had no choice, quite frankly, given her quest to fulfill her dream as an accomplished author is just what her mother would have wanted.

“Although my mother tried to keep her illnesses from me as long as she could, she still continued to love on and put me first,” Kelly recalled. “Every morning, my mother would wake up at 4 a.m., prepare me breakfast, then come to my room and ask me, ‘Mera, are you up writing?’”

For Kelly, losing her mother essentially served as a devastating blow to a writer whom, because of her mother’s unyielding support, eventually had to come to grips with the notion that her No. 1 cheerleader was still very much coaching and guiding her from the heavens.

“After her transition, I didn’t want to write anymore,” Kelly explained. “I decided that I wasn’t going to publish my book, nor continue my literary gift until one night I was sitting in my bed, crying and I heard a voice say, ‘Finish what your father started.’ I’ve been doing it ever since then, because this is what my parents would have wanted me to do.”

As for the divine message Kelly aspires to send to her reading audience through her first book, this writer emphasized, among other things, that whenever our backs are against the wall, what it all boils down to devising ways to simply trust the man in the mirror.

Kelly is founder and executive director of Purpose Over Popularity Youth Development Center, Incorporated, her nonprofit organization designed to create and develop outlets for youth in low-income areas so they can become thriving citizen.

“At the end of real day, you have to deal with you and your decisions,” Kelly said. “Therefore, remove your mask and trust you.”

Next up for Kelly: a second edition of “Back Against The Wall” and a written work entitled, “Children Don’t Come With Instructions.”

Chances are, these forthcoming projects will be as good as advertised, much like the first book assembled by this author, who’s the founder and executive director of Purpose Over Popularity Youth Development Center, Incorporated, her nonprofit organization designed to create and develop outlets for youth in low-income areas so they can become thriving citizen.

Nearly five four years removed from having produced her first book, Kelly still deems it a “Wow” moment to this day.

“Not to give away too much of the book, I actually have a character who speaks with God throughout her journey,” Kelly said. “This book aligns with my purpose for which I am called by using my gift to bring thought-provoking literature to those who can relate to the characters.”

This after having reached for the nearest pen and pad years ago from the comfortable confines of her the living room.

Is Memphis businesswoman Kim Claxton the tax preparation industry’s best kept secret in the Tri-State area?

tttt-2Just recently, Mid-South-based businesswoman Kim Claxton was asked what was her inspiration for delving off into the tax preparation industry.

Like many successful entrepreneurs, it wasn’t actually her primary area of emphasis.

“Tax preparation was not in my initial plans,” Claxton told longtime journalist Andre Johnson during an exclusive interview. “I have always loved math. That’s one thing my dad always said… ‘Take plenty of math courses.’ So I listened.  And here I am.”

oooAnd to her credit, coupled with the notion that she took heed to that about which her father suggest, Claxton essentially is helping transform and enhance lives from an economic standpoint — one person at a time.

A native Memphian and a rising entrepreneur who has proven time and again that maximizing her potential in her chosen field essentially headlines the divine purpose for which God created her, Claxton boasts such assertiveness and resiliency as owner and chief executive offer of KC Financial Services.

Located at 3385 Airways Boulevard, Suite 216 in the Whitehaven district of Memphis, KC Financial Services offer a variety of economic entities, most notably tax planning, bookkeeping, payroll, as well as vital assistance with federal and state tax ID forms.

By and large, what’s mostly beneficial is that they do this all year round, thus live up to their slogan of being a business that is “Professional. Consistent. Prompt.”

All while helping transform and enhance lives from an economic standpoint — one person at a time.

KC Financial Services boast a clientele that covers 15 U. S. States as well the U. S. Territory of Puerto Rico.

ffff“I  love it…I really do,” Claxton said of a professional tax preparation career that spans more than seven years. “It comes so natural for me.”

And because of her keen ability to routinely provide consumers with top-notch, reliable service, KC Financial Services appear on track to take on a national presence, a trend that essentially was a part of Claxton’s longstanding vision from the outset as a rising businesswoman.

“Helping my clients, whom I consider my extended family, keep their tax affairs in order, be it business or individual,” said Claxton, when asked what she loves most about her business. “The one company you don’t want to play with is the IRS. I want to put my clients at ease when it comes to filing their taxes.”

I want to put my clients at ease when it comes to filing their taxes.” Because, truth be told, Claxton acknowledged, “No one really cares for the IRS.”

A graduate of Memphis Northside High School, Claxton enrolled at the University of Memphis, then ultimatelly attended the Baptist School of Nursing.

Still, although for a while it appeared she was destined to engage in a career in the medical industry, God ultimately revealed to her a life-enhancing vision, one whereby she would transform and enhance lives from an economic standpoint — one person at a time.

The rest, as they say, is history.

To Claxton’s credit, she undoubtedly has found her niche in an industry in which it seems her best and brightest days are well ahead of her.

“I am always surprised when people reach out to me and tell me that they are inspired by my drive, hustle, and work ethic,” Claxton said. “It makes them work harder. It is flattering.”

Which, fortunately for Claxton, is what happens when you take heed to your father’s life-changing wisdom of taking math courses.

Early and often.
