Longtime Maryland real estate professional Michelle Larkin has been nothing short of amazing during her illustrious career

Andre Johnson February 21, 2018

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58)

HEART OF GOLD

ABOUT HER BUSINESS — A native of Annapolis, the capital of Maryland that is located in Anne Arundel County — a historic establishment with a population of roughly 537,656 residents, according to latest U. S. census — Accomplished Maryland Businesswoman Michelle Larkin has become a fixture in the mortgage business and, given the immeasurable strides she’s made over the past decade-and-a-half, it’s safe to assume that her best and brightest days are well ahead of her.“I tell my clients, ‘Believe in your dreams, and they may come true. Believe in yourself, and they will,’” Larkin told Making Headline News during an interview this week.

To grasp a thorough concept of why longtime businesswoman Michelle Larkin’s reputation is such that she routinely demonstrates having a heart for people, look no further than her illustrious career, one that spans 15 years.

In Larkin’s case, “Believe in your dreams,” by all accounts, are the operative words for one of Waldorf, Maryland’s finest managers/loan officers in the ever-so-competitive real estate industry.
A native of Annapolis, the capital of Maryland that is located in Anne Arundel County — a historic establishment with a population of roughly 537,656 residents, according to latest U. S. census — Larkin has become a fixture in the mortgage business and, given the immeasurable strides she’s made over the past decade-and-a-half, it’s safe to assume that her best and brightest days are well ahead of her.
“I started my career as a realtor, then realized that I loved the money side of real estate, then pursued my mortgage originators license,” Larkin said.
The rest, as they say, was history.
SPREADING THE LOVE — Because Larkin, this beloved and passionate East Coast-based real estate professional remained steadfast, immovable, and always abound in the work of the Lord, knowing that her labor — and, of course, her labor of love — in the Lord was never in vain, she’s yet living out her dream, all the while helping others fulfill theirs in the process.

Since earning her mortgage originators license, this young, vibrant, resilient real estate professional has been nothing short of impressive.

Never mind that Larkin for a number of years prior to finding her niche in her professional had to persevere as a single mother.

“I have seen that struggle,” Larkin said. “I wanted more for my children, but also wanted to help and inspire others as well.”

To her credit, it was due in large part to Larkin’s unyielding love and support for others — mostly notably during her days as working in sales — that someone, in turned, deemed it essential to provide her with the necessary advice and drive she needed to take a leap of faith.

What a monumental leap it was.

“I was inspired by a co-worker to pursue real estate,” Larkin said. “This was in 2003. I love the end result of real estate, to see folks that thought they could not ever have a piece of the American Dream actually have that dream. Your home is where you will spend most of your time, raise your children, make memories, etc. It is a special life purchase.”

And, because Larkin, this beloved and passionate East Coast-based real estate professional remained steadfast, immovable, and always abound in the work of the Lord, knowing that her labor — and, of course, her labor of love — in the Lord was never in vain, she’s yet living out her dream, all the while helping others fulfill theirs in the process.

Credit Larkin’s former co-worker, Fran Shirey of nearby Grasonville, Maryland, as whom she labels “the No. 1 person” who reminded her time and again that she believed her.

FAMILY FOCUS — Larkin’s father, Ernest Wallace, an Annapolis-based entrepreneur, as well as her three sons and her uncle, the late Anthony Wallace, each have played in integral role in her sustained success in the real estate industry throughout the years.

“That has been 15 years ago,” Larkin said.

Larkin’s father, Ernest Wallace, an Annapolis-based entrepreneur, as well as her three sons and her uncle, the late Anthony Wallace, each have played an integral role in her sustained success in the real estate industry throughout the years.

“Last but not least, my clients, who put their trust in me guiding them through one of the biggest purchases, if not the biggest purchase of their lives,” said Larkin, paying homage to her biggest supporters.

A proud graduate of Annapolis’ Broadneck High School, Larkin advanced her education by enrolling at American InterContinental University in Atlanta. Currently, she is enrolled at Strayer University, where she is pursing a law degree to complement her real estate and business-related ventures.

EXERCISING HER FAITH — To her credit, it was due in large part to Larkin’s unyielding love and support for others — mostly notably during her days as working in sales — that someone, in turned, deemed it essential to provide her with the necessary advice and drive she needed to take a leap of faith. And what a monumental leap it was.

Interestingly, Larkin offers a grant program, which covers 3.5% down payment to her clients.

This program, she said, is an in-house grant entity and prospective home buyers must possess 640 credit score to qualify. Also, she said there are no outside classes to attend and prospective home buyers must be qualified while qualifying for a home loan.

“There is no age limit; any adult over 18 can purchase a home,” Larkin said.

She also announced that she will be hosting a forthcoming home buyer and personal credit workshop in her native home county of Anne Arundel, an event that is available for anyone who would like to improve their personal credit, purchase a home, and take advantage of her down payment grant program.

The workshop will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mason Realty located at 7452 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, Suite 201B, in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Also, Larkin has a host of workshops scheduled starting in March and will run through September, during which prospective home buyers can acquire home owner’s information for free.

“I love helping and educating people about the home buying and financial process,” Larkin said. “Many come to me with challenged credit and other issues, and helping them navigate and change their world is gratifying.”

Much like her illustrious career, one that spans 15 years.

And counting, of course.
