Having acquired a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from California State University, Johnson also holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Howard, where graduated Suma Cum Laude. Also, Johnson is founder of a non-profit organization called Positive Young Teens (www.positiveyoungteens.org), whereby she assist disadvantaged youths in middle and high school, stressing, among other things, the importance of civic responsibility, leadership entrepreneurship, and academic excellence.
As far her biggest inspiration for electing to delve off into the competitive world of entrepreneurship, Johnson recalls like yesterday when one of her high school counselors suggested that she wasn’t a suitable fit to pursue higher education.
AS GOOD AS ADVERTISED — Fortunately for Johnson, she has been nothing short of impressive during an entrepreneurship tenure that spans more than 12 years — and counting.
Interesting enough, that proved to be just the motivation she needed to help steer her toward her destiny.
Look at her today, a former Rutgers University Corporate Trainer who is the mastermind behind having established three successful businesses, all while aiding thousands of professionals launch lucrative careers.
“When I was in high school my counselor told me I wasn’t college material,” Johnson recalled. “She suggested I get a job instead. That one incident has been a driving force in my life…not to prove her wrong, but to prove to myself that I could achieve anything I put my mind to.”

As if that isn’t enough to turn head globally, Johnson is scheduled to make appearances in South Korea in November. Also, she will be thrust upon the main stage for the Black CEO Womanpreneur Conference in January 2018.
“My biggest influence is my mother,” Johnson said. “She raised eight children by herself. She taught me the importance of hard work, commitment and perseverance.”

What it all boils down to, Johnson emphasized, is routinely esteeming others and impacting lives — one life at a time.
“If one person can say I made them feel worthy, valued, cared for,” said Johnson, “I’ve done my job.”
Which, to her credit, is one of the things that undoubtedly ring true as it pertains to Shawna Johnson.
