Shortly after 9 o’clock Monday morning, Angela Stone took to her Facebook timeline, where she deemed it necessary to — for a lack of better words — count her blessings.
Said Stone in a rather awe-inspiring, thought-provoking post:
“God opens doors which NO man can close. He will also bring you connections, supporters and encouragers that are NOT family-friends sometimes. I appreciate ALL of my Author Stone Facebook friends and supporters…AND I’m grateful for all of you who plant seeds of light, love and LIFE into my purpose. I am humbled.”
To grasp a broader sense of why Stone, 45, thought it essential to pay homage to her Creator and publicly salute and acknowledge those who have contributed mightily to her success one way or the other, look no further than the continuous strides she’s made in recent years.
A proud native of Augusta, Georgia, Stone is widely known as a literary and motivational messenger as well as a creative writing consultant, stints that have greatly afforded her with the golden opportunity to become an accomplished author in the process.
A fixture and ambassador in her native establishment, where she presently resides, Stone is owner and chief executive officer of “In Other Words, By Stone,” an empowerment venture about which she organized after making her professional authorship debut.
Popularly known as “Author Stone,” her first book, “Lust, Lessons, Love and Life,” is relatively new on the market, but has given way to array of favorable rave reviews for Stone whom, in March 2016, resigned from her Corporate America job after a near 20-year stint, a development she said has greatly allowed her to “purpose” that has pursued her throughout every level of her life or as she acknowledged, to be “unmasked, unchained and untamed.”
“I’ve always been told I was called to write and speak transparently through my words…bringing them to life and setting my readers free,” Stone told Making Headline News this week. “I started sharing my story and posting original motivational quotes on Facebook and my audience grew.”
So popular and inspiring has Stone’s timeline become because of her customary motivational posts that not only has she reached the maximum 5,000 Facebook followers but, to her credit, she’s managed to increase her marketing power and exposure as a result.

“I adore words, I love writing, and I am a giver by nature so I decided to make my life, services and skills available on a full-time basis,” said Stone, whose community involvement includes her valiant support and contributions to Y.E.S (Youth Education & Sports), Keep a Child Alive, Habitat for Humanity, the United Way, the American Cancer Society, Thomas Clark Jr. Scholarship Donor, and Relay for Life. “I resigned from my almost 20-year corporate employment — it was never meant to be a career — and I emptied my savings to start the purpose that has pursued me all my life. I speak, write, edit, create slogans, build bios and resumes.”
Given the immeasurable strides she’s made since bolting Corporate American, it’s safe to assume that Stone — because of the divine purpose for which God has created her — is effectively walking in her purpose, as evidenced by her inspiring social media post early Monday morning.
“I was propelled to do this business, because certain areas in my life required me to rely on words to make it through dark, dismal, and discouraging situations,” said Stone, a Paine College affiliate who is a contributing columnist and poet for TimBookTu.com, as well as a creative writing consultant for a few Historically Black Colleges And Universities (or HBCU’s). “If my words unchained, unmasked and untamed me, surely it would help someone else to overcome the obstacles and ostracized feelings in their life.”

Interesting enough, amongst Stone’s key emphasis as thriving businesswoman is to inspire others through her words, crafts and wisdom, in large part because of the sometimes challenging, hurtful lifestyle she once endured.
A mother of two, Stone admittedly struggled with her past, in large part because of what she described as a “lavish but lacking lifestyle,” amid the turmoil she faced while being married to a former NFL player.
According to a spokesperson for “In Other Words, By Stone,” such an encounter in Stone’s life proved especially pivotal, considering it gave way to her “Wise Wordswoman” nickname, thus fueled her impending autobiography entitled, “Reality To Rags To Riches: The Story and Life Of An Ex-NFL Wife.”
Talk about an awe-inspiring gallery of testimonies, courtesy of a woman whom, to her credit, not only deems it imperative to smile through her past hardships but, above all, thinks it necessary to encourage the masses in the process.
“The greatest thing about my purpose is receiving messages, comments, and emails about how my words inspired someone to see through wiser eyes and truthful tranquility,” said Stone, adding that her business caters to individuals of all ages and from various walks of life. “Every day, I strive to be a helper and not a hindrance in the lives I have been entrusted to motivate. It is my goal to expose my struggles to strength. I don’t believe the truth hurts. I believe it heals.”
Monday morning was no exception.
